Should we try the bus from Kidani?

We are car people. We drive down from NY and always use our car to go to the parks. Our kids are getting older and we don't need so much "stuff" anymore. We were thinking about trying the bus to MK this trip to avoid the monorail/boat.

We are early people, but not crazy about being first to the parks. We usually leave the hotel at about 8:15 if we are driving. What time would you suggest getting to the bus stop in the morning? About how often do the buses come? Just curious what kind of wait to expect if we want to go back and swim in the afternoon.

Thanks for the info.

We stayed at kidani in july and we are not early people but on the days we got to the bust stop early we didn't wait very long. What I love the most about the kidani bus stop is that it is the first stop and jambo is the second! I say go for it, try the bus what can it hurt?

I would never DRIVE to the MK! We have always had excellent bus service from AKV, and Kidani will be no different. We usually left around 8-8:15 for our early park visits when we took the bus from AKV.

We were at Kidani in June and the transportation was great. The trip to NK took about 14 minutes. The buses come about every 20 min. And has been said, Kidani is the first stop.

I rode an early bus to MK from Kidani in June. I think we left the room around 7:30, the bus came within 5 minutes, the next stop was Jambo and tons of people got on, I think we left some at the curb. We were inside the MK by 8:15 (EMH).

The nice thing about Kidani is that it is the first stop loading at AKL, so you will get a seat and I do not think we ever waited longer than 10 minutes. With that said in June the busses were very full so having 20-30 standing people was not unusual, which means often giving up a seat for others with a greater need, but the rest of the family at least got a seat.

Have to agree with all of the posters on this one. We have stayed at all of the DVCs on property (Except BLT) and have found without exception that the bus service at AKV is the best of all of them. Of course the resort is far from most of the parks, but the same would be true if you drove. I think I will only rent a car the next time we stay at BCV or BWV. There are way too many stops on that bus route.
