Should we try Blizzard Beach?

We have been to Typhoon Lagoon numerous times. However, I’d like to give Blizzard Beach a try. Two in my party like the moderate slides, nothing too adventurous or steep. The third member just enjoys the pool or the lazy river, no slides at all really. And I know that all water parks will have stairs to climb, but I don’t recall having an issue with those at TL. How are the stairs at BB? We went to Volcano Bay last year and the stairs just about killed us, which seriously affected our enjoyment of the park.

BB has a ski lift to the top of Mt Splashmore. You can to get to several rides from ski lift. The individual tube rides still have stairs. Look at the map of park and see if the rides suit your party. The lazy river is nice. The wave pool is smaller than TL and just has a constant bob not like TL’s pool where you get the bigger waves. It’s also has less rides than TL.

BB has the longest family raft ride by far.
Using the ski lift makes it easy to get there.
There are various other things to do that will satisfy all in your group.
I think you will have an enjoyable day there.
If it is peak season I encourage you to arrive early for best seats and short lines.

We prefer TL for that tidal wave, the awesome themed lazy river and the music but we hit both each trip anyway. That tall slide is a right of passage for me and wife being over fifty. If we can still brave that drop, we deserve to come back every year.

BB def. has more stairs than TL, but we still use them without much of an issue. - Def. hard if you're carrying a 1-2 year old up them for the family raft ride. You don't have to use them though...there's a lift (we've never used it) and stuff to do at the bottom. We much prefer TL, just due to theming but BB is fun as well.

Have you ever considered Aquatica? We also love the main pool and lazy rivers, but love Roa’s Rapids, a fast moving river ride at Aquatica more than anything else. We can stay submerged up to our necks, wearing life vests and just bobbing along in the moving water for hours. We wear our sunglasses, water shoes and hat in the pools and found that we must wear long sleeve rash guards at water parks to keep our northern skin from burning.

Nothing is more relaxing than a day at a water park in our opinion.

We always enjoy a few hours at Blizzard beach. When the kids were young (4-9 maybe), they loved the areas where you walk across the icebergs. They’d do that do hours while I just hung out in the pool right there watching them.

BB has the better lazy river plus the family tube ride. The slide and other tube rides are also fun. Wave pool also really fun and large. We have done both and typically like BB just a bit more but both are fun. A few more steps at BB but not too many more unless you do Summit Plummet. We typically will do a half day or so at either. The ski lift is also pretty cool if you want to use versus stairs.

The lazy river and tube rides are really fun at BB. Have not tried the new family raft ride at TL, so can't compare them.
The wave pool at TL is much better.

But with younger kids, even good swimmers the TL wave pool can be too much. Many cut up knees and tears even staying far back.

We like BB far more than TL - BUT - I really wish BB had a water coaster. TL is worth going to for Crush N' Gusher. The water slides at BB are much better - all of them. Not a fan of any wave pool but then I do live walking distance to a beach. I prefer the areas shady areas scattered all around BB where you can set up camp and hang out.

The bobbing pool at BB is boring. It's really small, too, compared to TL.

We like both of them. I (50+) much prefer BB as I like the bobbing pool over the wave pool. My 10yo DD likes TL as she loves the wave pool.

You really can't go wrong with either of the Disney water parks. If you enjoy TL I really think you'd enjoy BB also!
