Should we switch or keep? MK/HS because of shortened hours and Boo Bash?

In September our current reservations are MK Sunday (9:30-8:30) and HS on Monday (9-9:00). Should we switch these days since MK has shortened hours and a special event? Just trying to get in the most rides and ROR. Also...is rope drop the same as before? just get there early?

From what I have heard, MK hours will not be shortened. The Boo Bash merely gets you an after hours experience. Still has the fireworks, etc with the regular park visit. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong

eta: ok, shorter by 30 minutes
Personally, I would switch anyway because of the feeling it will be more crowded with the regular park visitors plus the Boo Bash visitors, who will come early to enjoy the fireworks, and just get in early. If I were going, I know I'd take advantage f getting in early. I usually did with the MNSSHP.

yes...it seems that it is shorter in the am as well with a 9:30 opening. But isn't HS busier on Sundays?
MK opens at 9 am all of next week, and it closes at 8:30 only on tuesday and friday. I keep a close eye on it because we are going to be there all three days, one of them being at the Boo Bash itself. Wait times should still be relatively low the rest of the day, though

Thanks! I caught my mistake on the 9:30. We have everything reserved including dining so I would hate to change unless it makes a drastic difference

Last time we were there, we went on a shortened day and had a wonderful time! Low crowds most of the day. At the time, there was fp+ and I was able to get fps for ALL the attractions, including Peter Pan and 7DMT.

Are you going next week and can report back?

Keep your plans. Most likely, MK will actually be LESS crowded on a Boo Bash day than more crowded, at least most of the day. You may see some small increase at the very end of the day, but that will be offset by the opportunity to see some of the fun costumes.

You will still be expected to leave at park closing, and won't be able to do any attractions after park closing, but you have up until park closing to do attractions.

The park gets packed on Boo Bash nights at 7pm as BB atendees get in and start riding and waiting for HEA, it should be relatively normal until then. If cathcing HEA at the HUb or Main Street with lower crowds is preferred, then swap nights.

If I understand it right, APs are available to the public again starting Sept. 8, so weekends will probably be busier in both parks going forward.

I just read trip reports for this week. It sounds like crowds are extremely low right now. Like FoP is walk-on mid-afternoon kind of low crowds. That's crazy low!

FL COVID rates started to spike just about the time people there now had to pay their final WDW package balances, 30days prior to arrival. I'm certain many people cancelled.

September might be slightly offset by Ratatouille previews, but you are still going before October when the Anniversary starts.

I truly wouldn't worry about crowds in most of September.
