Should we split AK/DHS into half days?

It would be nice to see both parks in the evening (I've read that AK can get hot and stifling...worried about doing a full day there) so just wondering how viable it is to split the two parks considering we've never been before and will want to see a lot?

Any thoughts?

You could certainly do it that way, although one advantage to doing the same park in the morning and evening, whether you leave for naps or not, is that you can collect fastpasses in the morning to use that night when you go back. When you split the parks like you have it takes that option away.

They are perfect parks to split. They can both be one day parks. I personally try to hit both at least twice while I'm there, but it is mainly to repeat favorites on my second day. Having a car will make it easy. I have never done the Safari in the afternoon, but I think I will try to do that on my next trip.

I did them both as one day parks with the UG touring plans & they worked very well. I think splitting them would be more trouble than it would be worth.

Sounds like it might be better to do each of them on their own special day, then. Thanks guys :worship:

Personally I would plan for two separate days. It isn't really worth going back to AK in the afternoon on a second day as it closes so early.

We always do AK first of the two and when we run out of things to do which we usually do around 3:00PM we head over to DHS for a few rides and Fantasmic. If you get there early enough you can even catch the last show of Beauty and the Beast.

Then spend you 2nd day all day at DHS. IMHO there is more to see there and it is worth a full day.

I would spend full days at both. Although there isn't as much to do at both as these parks, it is still really nice walk around and take in the little things about the park. And sometimes if you wait for different times in the day, you can get other stuff done if they were busier earlier

We'll be doing AK first too, so will be able to leave whenever we're done...I also read that you can run out of things to do at DHS by about 4pm.

As a first timer looking at all the maps and touring plans, I feel like I need a week for each park!

that's what we've done: EMH at AK, then off to MGM around noon (and lunch at sci-fi)
