Should we grin and bear it?

Or in other words.. grin and MOUSE it.. hehe.. My family wants to go to Disneyland around Christmas time. We have been planning on the week BEFORE Christmas time because there are lighter crowds and more hotel availability. But now my Dad can only get that week off between Christmas and New Years (the week of death).

I know that the week before Christmas is CROWDED and the week after Christmas you guys wouldn't wish upon your worst enemies.. But its the only time we can go as a family.

Should we still try and go? Or should we just stay home?

I say go! Sure it will be busy, but if you get there early in the morning and really focus on doing the things that are super important to you, it will be a great time. It is such a magical time of year at the park. I hope you all have a wonderful time

Haha yeah that work always gets in the way! My Dad is a Physical Therapist and has his own business so that week is the only week his sub therapist can take over. Bummer!

I forgot to mention that in the party will be my parents (who are still agile and good walkers!), my sister and her husband, their 1 year old baby (who just started walking), my husband and myself, my younger sister (22) and younger brother (19). So our only downfall is that dang stroller... will it be miserable to bring a stroller?

A stroller will be no problem...PLUS you have a place to store a few things...

We had 3 larks and the park was so crowded they closed the parking garage (Columbus weekend last year)...with that being said....I'd think if we could get around with 3 motorized scooters in jam packed conditions...you should be able to get around with a stroller..

That's a good thought. I'm sure it will be a great time. With the extra crowds doing without the stroller would be a blessing. Is it possible if people take turns 1yo could be carried? How about in a collaspable pack?

Good point Skiingfast! I was going to suggest the baby backpack. It worked great for us when our DD was just about a year old (although, she was on the really small side). Either way, I don't think the stroller should be a problem.

I love that your whole family is going! We will be there the 18th -20th. This is our 18th annual Holiday trip.

If it were me...

...if the only way I could visit the Park when it's got all the holiday stuff going on was to go when it's crowded...

...I'd still do it. And I being in massive crowds. But my love for the Park in all its holiday glory would overrule that.

I say bring the stroller and the backpack. This way you can park the stroller when it's really crazy and use the backpack. In the morning, EE (if you get one) or when the 1yr old gets heavy you can use the stroller (with all the walking they can get very heavy especially to and from the hotel). I think you will be happiest with more that one option.

Bring the stroller and a comfy baby carrier (like an Ergo). Park the stroller and use the Ergo until your LO needs to nap or you're tired and doing a long walk or what not.
