DH and I were thinking earlier today. Dangerous, I know.

Our APs are scheduled to expire in a couple of weeks, and we were thinking about making reservations for All Star Movies for next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

3 nights at ASMovies, plus QSDP for 2 would cost $600. We would be out another couple of hundred bucks for gas :scared1: and a hotel room Thursday night.

Our plans would be to drive from Montgomery, Alabama to Lake City, Florida on Thursday evening. We would then get WDW at mid-day on Friday, and leave WDW at mid-day on Monday to be back at work Tuesday morning.

So, assuming we have the cash :rolleyes1 -- would you guys do it?

Would you still go if you needed to eat breakfast in the room, take sandwiches into the park, and eat cs at night?

Only you can decide what's the right decision for you financially. LOL, are you looking for enablers or devil's advocates?

Personally, I don't think I would enjoy a value resort stay after having been spoiled by DVC stays for so long. We've never stayed there, though. I really don't have a frame of reference. If you're ASMovies veterans and fans, go and have a good time.

I booked a free dining trip for Labor Day weekend just so we could get one last trip with our AP's which expire towards the end of September. We're going to check out CSR. I know it's not DVC, but I also know we're really going to focus on the parks - I think it will suit us just fine.

Obviously, I think you have a good idea ;)

Enablers!!! I am looking for Enablers!!!!

Come on! I need to work on my dissertation, and well...the money would have to come from savings...and the trip would have to be on the cheap side...but...I haven't been to Disney since December, and it was cold when we were there. Plus, late September is 3 1/2 months away! GEE, that sounds pretty petty and spoiled. :snooty:

I just love the idea of showing up to a park with no plans, no ADRs, and being completely spur of the moment. Hubby doesn't make a trip across town without a well thought out plan. But...that is part of our own magic.

Do it! We did a cheap value trip in December and had a blast. If we lived close enough to drive in 8 hours or less, I have a feeling we'd be at Disney every couple months!

I would be the same way! My job is Mon-Thursday most weeks (I work one Friday per month). Also, I have a company car that I am allowed to use for personal usage. We would be there about every 6 weeks!

All that aside, I say go for it! I looked at the 10 day forecast for Orlando, and it was low 90's. If you can tolerate the weather and it's not a financial burden, the go for it!

Why not check the DVC rent boards for a last minute rental that hasn't been scouped up for next weekend or someone with expiring points:cool1:. I bet you could snag SSR, OKW, or AKV if you're lucky and may end up paying less per night than All Stars:cloud9:. Bring bagels, cereal and milk for breakfast, late lunch at a table service or a good counter service then graze in whatever park you're at for dessert. I wouldn't think twice if I could drive and had annual passes;).

Its actually hotter here than in WDW.

However, inside my house is 72 degrees.

Without a doubt i would do it instead of letting the passes expire, it would be a nice long weekend trip. If you dont you will probably regret it later.:lmao:

I would need to a long hard thinking process about going...ok enough thought

go:banana:

Have a good time because you never know what tomorrow will bring

Years ago when we were driving from PA (now we fly)......I would always extend our vacation by at least one day before and one day after. We would stay at a cheap motel outside the world......thats what annual passes are for.....to extend the fun.

Stay where you must......eat what you must......but use those passes before they expire.....and make some memories.

My kids.....have fond memories of those "extra days"

OMG! If you're not robbing your grocery money to go...then go! Honestly, if you can pay your bills and stil pull this off, then it's worth it!

Memoriies will last a lifetime!

Sounds good to me!!!

Not sure why you'll be taking sandwiches into the park though if you're on QSDP??? We did that plan on our last trip and it was plenty of food!! No extra food needed!!! We did breakfast in the room but sometimes I didn't even do that as you get 2 snack credits a day so I'd use them for a breakfast muffin and coffee. We loved the flexibility of the plan - no need to hurry up and get to your ADR!

Have fun!!

I was debating between 1) getting the QSDP OR 2) taking sandwiches.

I can't seem to get hubby to budge on this idea. :sad1:

It looks like we'll be staying home.
