Hey everyone!

Me and my family will be staying in WDW but now we've decided to add a couple more days to the trip so we will be in Orlando for 13 days :goodvibes We're only doing 8 days in the disney parks and and then there 2 travel days... so we will have 3 extra days to do whatever. None of us have been to Universal yet so I was wondering if it is worth it to buy a one or two day pass to Universal?? Are the rides worth a one day pass for over 100$??? Oh and by the way it will be me(20) my sis(21) and my parents!! Let me know :) Thanks!

Yes do it.Very fun,you won't regret it.Come over to the Universal boards and ask any question you want.Better yet read the trip reports to get a feel of what Universal has to offer. They post alot of pics and state alot of opinions of there visit.

So hope too see ya post over on the darkside!!:thumbsup2

Definately post your question on the Universal forum -- see thread near the bottom of the DISBOARDs. So many people love the Universal parks. For my family our favorite park is Sea World, and we always go two days there (with a one day admission, you get a second day free within seven days if you stop at the customer service desk for a ticket). And after Sea World our next favorite is Disney, so we usually give Universal a skip. We're not as into the type of rides/theming they have, but for lots of people Universal/IOA are favorite parks. This year, though, with the new Harry Potter Forbidden Journey ride and the new cool looking castle, etc. (pictures I've seen look pretty incredible), we're going to do one day at Islands of Adventure.

DH and I (mid twenties) have voted no for the Harry Potter Park. I am a huge closet HP fan, but we just can't justify the added expense. For the two of us to go it would be $158 for ONE day in ONE park. This is not including the cost of transportation from the Disney complex over to Universal and back. But by all means, if you have the money, I would go for it, especially given all the time you will be there.

Absolutely you should head to Universal! It is a different experience from Disney, but a really fun one.

As long as you don't do the "comparison" to Disney, it is a lot of fun. My first visit was jaded by waiting to feel the magic that is Disney's alone.

Our second trip was much better, I started enjoying it for what it was...a different park experience. Would NOT pay that price for bringing 2 kids! It was DH and myself, so it was a super good time!

GO!

For a 20 and 21 year olds for sure! (The parents will like a lot of it too probably) You two will have a blast!

and how much would it cost 2 people for ONE day in ONE Disney park? Here's a hint: it's more :rotfl2:

Another vote here for definitely taking the time to check it out. Universal Orlando is broken up into 2 parks - the Studios and IOA - both are different experiences and have different attractions. I would suggest 2 days to see everything and a 2 day/park to park ticket will cost you $145/per person which is definitely cheaper than a 2 day park hopper with Disney ($221) :thumbsup2

Get the 2 day pass! Like Disney's parks the 2 Universal parks are differently themed. Things that we think are must do for Universal are
--both parks
--restaurants in the citywalk area (between the 2 parks): Hard Rock Cafe & Margaritaville
--show: Blue Man Group.
If you want to maximize the experience move off Disney property and stay at least one night in one of the Universal Hotels. Royal Pacific Hotel (RPH) was wonderful! Staying overnight at Universal will get you front of line access on both days. With the HP craze will be an essential for us when we go again!

If you have it to spend, definitely go! Universal is great, the parks are beautiful, and they have the most awesome rides :) Especially with WWOHP opening, you should definitely check it out!

It's great to hear everyone say....YES. I already added the two day package (staying at the Hard Rock) to the end of our Disney trip. Very glad I found this post so now I can let my DH know everyone thinks it's a great idea :).

Go to Mousesavers.com and get added to their newsletter. They will send you a discount for Undercover Tourist. The tickets are much cheaper. I think $115 for adults and $98 for kids for the two day passes. We are so going to see the new HP stuff!

In case you don't realize it you can actually get 3 days worth of front of the line access with your 2 day HRH stay because your room key will also get you access on the entire day you check out. If you have something like a 7-day pass for US (which probably costs the same or less than 2 1-day passes) then you can get an extra early admission to Harry Potter, an extra FOTL and an extra full day of express access to every US/IOA ride except HP and Pteradon Flyers. It is the best perk for staying onsite at any Orlando resort :thumbsup2
