We are going for five night. Thinking about an extra night with the free dining package to do seaworld.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get there? Any discounted ticket ideas? should we even bother with a 2 yr old?

My dd at 2 would have LOVED sea world, but she's always had some ocean connection. My neice is 3 and I don't think a year ago she would have been ready.

It takes about 15 minutes from the ASMo resort. We went last weekend and LOVED IT!!! The shows are wonderful and my kids had a ball. We ate lunch at the Sharks Underwater Grill and it was fabulous. You can only make AP's between 10:00 and 11:00 AM, so get there early! You eat right beside the shark tank and you can watch the sharks as you eat.

My husband is military, so imagine our surprise when we got there and all 4 of us got in FREE!!! I have also heard that teachers get in at a discount.

Your 2 year old will love Sea World.

We went 2 years ago with DS8, DS6 and DD 2 1/2. They loved it. They loved it so much that we are planning a Sea World day in July when we go. My DH loved as much as the kids. It's fun to feed the dolphins and the sea lions. SSHHHHH....it is a surprise trip! 18 days and counting! :cool1:

We were going for 10 days and now I extended for 14 days because we want to go to sea world, bush gardens and maybe Universal. We are a party of 8 :grouphug: (me, DH, DD3, DS4,DS6, DM, DMIL AND DG). We are going so many days, because the last time I went to WDW was in 1991, my DH has never been in MK, only in Epcot, is the first time for my kids and the other grownups don't even remember when was the last time. So we want to take it easy and see at least almost everything.

If you can work it in - DO! Seaworld is a fantastic park. The animal shows are incredible! The park is clean and beautiful. My sons both went the first time at 2 and 4 and we bought the fun pass to include a day at SeaWorld on ALL our trips for the remainder of that year. (we are skipping the fun pass this year - one year on...one year off - just to keep them interested in going).

Its a lot of walking, so make sure to take your stroller for your little one. I have a picture of the boys and I feeding the dolphins there last year that is simply priceless to me! Go - give it a shot. I will probably get shot for saying this, but to me this park is VERY enjoyable because the service and grounds are on par with Disney, but without the crowds. (which will be relative to when you go of course- its busier during busy travel months - but when Disney is crushed, you will feel less bustled and pushed about at SeaWorld.)

Have fun!

SeaWorld is a wonderful, relaxing day. You don't really have to stand in lines (especially with a 2 yr. old), and there is always a nice, shady place to cool off. Plus, my dh's favorite -- free Anheuser Busch products, conveniently located with a sandwich place!

I think it's well worth the trip.

I'm convinced! I just called Disney and added another day (with the free dining, mind you :cool1: ) to our stay. 6 nights at ASmo, 1 day at MGM, 2 days at MK, 1 day at AK, 1 day at Sea World. Yikes, tickets are pretty expensive, though! Thank goodness we don't have to pay for DD2. Just me, DH, and DS5.

I can't wait!

Last year we got the Pepsi SW tickets where you paid the park admission and you get lunch free, which includes an entree and 20 oz Pepsi plus another voucher for another 20 oz Pepsi anytime during the day. We were a party of 11 and split to 3 different places, one of the party went to a place where they didn't even take the voucher but the cashier had already rung it up and couldn't be bothered canceling it so she let my sister take it. This was a half-roasted chicken, corn on the cob, biscuit and Pepsi lunch! We had a very good time and the vouchers were a big hit since you can use them almost anywhere in the park. Look for the tickets on their website, click on "Pepsi promos" or "deals," we also bought the tickets online with the "will call" feature, you pick the tickets up at the park, which we preferred because it was one less thing we had to remember to bring. SW is a wonderful park, you won't regret visiting. Have a wonderful trip.  :cool1:

I agree with the above posters that SW is GREAT! We took DD when she was 2 and she had a ball. She really liked touching the sting rays. They have lots of neat things to do for the little ones.

Good to hear the great reviews about Sea World. We have never managed to make it over there from Disney, so this next trip is a shorter one to Orlando. All we are doing is Sea World!

You will have a great time! We were there in February, and really enjoyed every minute. The mix of shows and exhibits really allows you to set the pace for your day, so you can enjoy it at the rate that is comfortable for you.

:fish: We also enjoy Sea World very much. We usually do it every other time that we do Disney. The first time our oldest DD went she was 2 1/2 and loved it. All our kids have enjoyed it at every age. The Sea Lion and Otter show is our favorite. Get there early because there is a mime that amuses everyone seated while the guests are coming in for the show. He mimicks a lot of them as they come in. We also enjoyed the Pet show last time. This was our first time seeing this one and it is amazing to see everyday pets (and not so everyday pets- like rats, mice, ducks, etc.) do amazing tricks. Dont miss this either. When we went last time, we bought tickets off the internet, printed them and took them with us, and we got the second day free. The CM said that you always get a second day free to use within 7 days I believe. Just go to the left after entering the park and have your picture taken and you will be given a pass to use within 7 days. Check with someone by phone before you go to see if this is still the case. Maybe you could add ONE MORE night to your vacation!! :fish:

Here's a different perspective. We HATED it! I was really looking forward to it and was excited for my DD2 to experience it for the first time, but we ended up leaving very early in the day. I felt like all we did was walk!! Everything is so spread out. What I think bothered us the most was that it seemed like a Disney knock-off park. They copy a lot of the things Disney does, yet it's not Disney, so that just annoyed me. There are a few things we liked, but overall, I didn't feel we got our money's worth. We loved Sharks Underwater Grill, but not enough to make a second trip back. Hopefully you'll have a better time. If not, then you at least tried it and will be able to decide if you want to return a second time. Have a great trip! princess:
