Should we expect a general public room only discount 3/21-5/30?

Just trying to plan a strategy on what to do - room only or a package with free park hopping.

I am hoping for one too. We got a room only code last year during this time. I went ahead and booked the park hopper special so I atleast have some special offer. But if a room only code comes available I want to use that because that would be more useful for our family. We are booked at the Poly right now. IF a code comes available, I wonder if they will have anything at this resort. My husband is not a disney lover like the rest of us. We stayed at the Poly last year and he said he actually felt like he was on vacation so I booked it for this year to make him happy. We will see what happens! I hate paying rack rate when I have never paid rack rate before. Also, I would think summer and December are the busiest times at WDW. Why would they offer such great specials then and not during the month of May?
