We will be staying at the Polynesian and want to eat breakfast near by on our departure day.

We have already eaten at Ohana for breakfast before but wonder is Chef Mickeys just as good?

We also have a reservation for a breakfast at the Wave earlier in the week.

You can find plenty of arguments about the food at Chef Mickey's. We have never done breakfast at 'Ohana - Lilo and Stitch was never a movie we got very excited about so we haven't ever had the desire to go.

We do dinner all the time at Chef Mickey's and have always really enjoyed it. We have never had problems with the food at Chef Mickey's. It's not gourmet food by any means, but I don't expect much besides a basic buffet quality and selection when there are people dressed up like giant mice, ducks, and dogs roaming the restaurant.

How are you planning to depart?

If it involves Magical Express, checking out of the resort, RAC, etc., do 'Ohana. We did that on checkout day and enjoyed it, and it made one less thing to worry about for timing.

We are flying out and taking magic express but we will have plenty of time our flight doesnt leave until 5:30 so I figure we will get on the ME around 2:30

'Ohana, every time. We have only had three meals at Chef Mickey way back when my kids were young. The food was not good and the place was a madhouse.

I havent been to Chef Mickeys in years. Ive been to Ohana every trip for the past, about, 5. The 2 big differences are 1) The characters and 2) Family style food at your table vs. a buffet. Obviously there are more food options at the buffet, and there are more characters at Chef Mickeys as well. Are you going with kids? If so, ask them who they would prefer to have breakfast with. Lilo, Stitch and Mickey or Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. Every item in the family style meal is at the buffet plus more, so foodwise, it shouldnt make a difference, only if you wnt to get up and get it yourself or not.

No little kids just 1 teen. We are not that worried about the characters just the food and atmosphere. We like taking pictures with the characters but not worried about which ones.

Then Ohana for sure. Its quieter, more organized and they do have great characters. When I stay at the Poly, I always eat at Ohana on my last morning. It gives me a little more time to pack, not having to go far for breakfast, and if time allows, the kids take a last swim in the pool before heading for the airport (and I visit the gift shops one more time :) )

And thinking about if this were my trip, I would skip the Wave and either go to CHef Mickeys or go to the Grand Floridian Cafe. Have you been to the Wave before? I dont like it. Its so dark. GFC is so bright and cheery! I like to start my morning like that and the food it wonderful!

I think we will go with the Ohana breakfast and swim afterward. We booked the Wave because we have never seen the CR before and would like to check it out also a friend said they loved the Wave breakfast and recommended it.

I'm on the fence - having had breakfast at both several times, it's not a clear cut answer.

I would say the food is hand down better at Ohana.

The food is ok-to good range at Chef Mickey's - but the buffet gives you a good deal of variety.

The problem is with the service - the last two times we had bad service at Ohanas - waited a good 40 minutes to be seated, and S L O W service even after being seated. The after the mini-parade, Pluto completely skipped our table - and when I told the handler she did nothing about it. Missed our fast pass ride and considering when our breakfast ressie time, this should not have happened. the service was that slow.

The service is much speedier at Chef Micky's

Both are = in terms of great characters and character interactions (although Chef Mickey's might have a little edge here)

So I would say Chef Mickey's based on the really slow service on our past two visits. (And also the Pluto table skipping and indifferent handler)
