Hi, we have an ADR for Le Cellier for a late lunch. Lately a lot of people here have been saying how terrible Le Cellier's food has been. For instance some have said that the steak was all fat, and others have said that it definately doesn't live up to the hype surrounding it. There have also been a lot of complaints about the atmosphere/wait staff. We have never been there, and were able to get an ADR because of all the hype. So my question is this. Should we see if we can change our ADR to Coral Reef? That is another place we have never been to and would like to try. I know there have been a few Le Cellier vs. Coral Reef threads around with a lot of people split on this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

We ate at Le Cellier last April & it was my family's favorite meal in DW! It will also be our first dinner at DW this upcoming trip in Sept.

Honestly, I'm sure everyone's experience is different, depends on who's serving, who's cooking, how busy it is, etc, etc. Also, I think a large portion of people's issue with their meal is their issue...sorry, not meant to be rude but honestly, if I'm in a bad mood or tired or whatever, it's amazing how often the meal I eat or the service I receive just does not seem up to par.

Anyway, just an observation but I would absolutely recommend Le Cellier!! As for the Coral Reef, I've never ate there as my kids are not big on fish. In either case, I'm sure you will have a great time!

I would always base my choices on the menus. People have very different tastes and what one person hates another one will love.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I personally LOVED it, the food is so good the cheese soup is AMAZING and im from wisconsin so I know cheese soup! any way I would keep it and if you want to try the other place try to get in there as well!!!!! pirate:

We just got back from our trip. We ate lunch at Le Cellier on Thrusday July 5th at 12:10. It was GREAT :cheer2: I too was worried as my sister n law who works for Disney kept telling me and my hubby that it was over rated and we should go to Artist Point or Califorina Grill. I wanted to try the soup and it was yummier than I expected :woohoo: We had a fabulous waiter too!!

Keep your ADR and enjoy the soup and get the Fliet Mingon ...if you like beer the Molson was great too:thumbsup2

I haven't eaten at either, but I say keep Le Cellier - you won't know until you have tried it for yourself, and you might love it or hate it - but at least you can say you've tried it :teeth:

I've kept all my ADRs despite some getting bad reviews here on the DIS, like Sci-Fi and Tony's. I chose them because of the photos I'd seen, and the items on the menu, and in the case of some, the ambience.

I say keep Le Cellier.

Le Cellier is the one restaurant we eat at every trip. We've never had bad food or bad service. I ate there solo in May and tried their new duck two ways appetizer, my usual filet with mushroom risotto, and sorbet two ways. Everything was wonderful. We do definitely prefer dinner though over lunch.

Despite having an ADR at Coral Reef for my upcoming Sept trip, Coral Reef is where we have received subpar service and food in the past. We've had snooty waiters there and kids climbing all over us when we've had a table next to the tank.

Remember opinions are subjective. One persons favorite can be one persons worse. Either because of expectations, taste, or personality. I say if LeCellier is really where you wanted to dine then stick with it. If you experience any of the things people are reporting as bad, then talk to a manager. I would especially talk to someone if you get a very fatty steak and its supposed to be a lean cut.

Whatever you decide I hope you have a fantastic time!

We have 2 PS's at LeCellier this August. We have never had a bad meal or bad service there. :thumbsup2

Le Cellier is good. I would keep ADR for it. I remember a couple years ago seemed like 'Ohana was getting a ton of bad reviews here and we loved it. I think you should look at menu and see which one you like more if you're not going to both Le Cellier and Coral Reef.

Thanks for all the info/suggestions. I'm glad that other people have gotten good meals from Le Cellier recently. I was starting to get a little worried that it wouldn't live up to the hype. I guess we'll stick with it and see what happens.

We have had great meals at CR and Le Cellier. I would pick either!:thumbsup2

If you've never eaten at le Cellier, i would keep the ADR and go. If you have been before and are not sure if the food will be as good..Then it is up to you really.

I have been once to LC and had a fabulous meal. We are not big steak eaters and thought the food was delicious. But I think the food everywhere at WDW is delicious(as long as I don't have to cook, everything tastes great). I recently cancelled an ADR at LC in order to eat at Garden Grill. I know the two don't really compare but our DD will much more enjoy a hug from Chip n Dale and Pluto than a steak at LC. To each his own.

When I cancelled LC, the CM taking my cancellation told me that this is the most popular TS in all of WDW.

I was just there in May/June and the food was awesome. I make sure it is a must on every WDW vacation.

Never base your ressies on other peoples opinions. Just give it a try for yourself. Everyones taste is different.
