Reporting back! We had a great stay at
Pixar Place and really enjoyed the club lounge!
Yes, beer, wine and sparkling wine are available all day, just ask any server. They had Heineken and Corona and I forget the wine brand, but the white was a decent sauvignon blanc. I think I had a glass of red one evening too.
Yes, you can get a to-go box to take snacks out, also, just ask any server. They will also pour your alcoholic drink into a to go cup. They will fill your water bottle to the brim with ice. They have a filtered water and sparkling water tap to refill your bottles. Our room had two bottles of Dasani water when we arrived as well (so you could refill those at the club lounge if you wanted).
Every other evening they have crafts from 5:00-6:30 I think, bracelet making or button making. This was one of the highlights of my daughter's trip, haha.
Food quality was good, better than the free breakfast type hotels I've stayed at before nearby. It was only once quite busy when we went in on our check out day around 11 (lots of people had checked in and were waiting for rooms). You can enter until 1pm on your check out day, and as far as I know as soon as you check in on your arrival day. Service was good, but you'd often have to ask if you wanted something, most weren't coming around asking if you wanted another drink etc, but some did!
Breakfast had: fruit, 3 types of yogurt, 4 types of cereal, juice, baked egg 'bites' (meat or veg), oatmeal, either blintzes or mini waffles. Plus bread, mini bagels, croissants, danishes, muffins... etc. The quality on all of these seemed one step up from standard breakfast, but not mindblowingly good. I am a simple breakfast person so it worked for me.
Lunch had: 3 types of mini sandwiches, make your own salad (ingredients changed, sometimes tomatoes and cucumbers plus other bits, sometimes ham and blue cheese plus other bits), chex mix, popcorn, pretzels, m&ms, cheezits, fruit salad.
We had dinner the night my daughter was making buttons: one pesto pasta, one tomato pasta, italian wedding soup with big meatballs, garlic bread. Hummus or ranch and veggies cups, charcuterie cups, antipasto salad. This was on par with in park pasta I'd say. Nice to have lots of veggies available!
We had dessert one night, but I didn't really look as I wasn't hungry, but I think my family had: mini brownies, rice krispie squares, mousse cup, one more thing in a cup, ha.
For us with was worth it because much like
@Reepicheep, (but despite being far younger

) we also like an afternoon in the club lounge having some chex mix, salad, tiny sandwiches and a couple drinks to decompress/stare at the wall, while our daughter watches cartoons on the club lounge tv (and they give you the remote so you can choose any channel). Between the few drinks per day and a latte or two in the morning and the prices these things are in the parks we at least made up the extra $85 per night over the DLH std view. Also, the preferred view from the 14th floor is possibly one of the best hotel views possible at the 3 DL hotels!
Let me know if you have any questions! I'll post my general hotel review in the Pixar Place superthread as well!
