Hi! Well, we're set to hit WDW the end of May for our second trip with DD's 9 and 11. Paying in hard-saved cash for everything and ready for fun! Well...just found out we're expecting a new family member in about 7 1/2 months or so...

DH is thinking we should cancel and save the money for later necessities. My thinking is that we should go ahead with our plans - this is it for big trips for our DD's for several years with this new development. I can't imagine telling them the good news in a few weeks followed by the wammo that they don't get to go to Disney.

I guess I keep thinking that even if we skip the trip and save the cash it probably will just disappear on little things and we won't even have it later this year anyway. Why not spend it now and enjoy a "last blast" for awhile? I teach church preschool and don't exactly bring home alot of money - my money is our "fun money" and it pays for the girls' activities, etc. Even though we do use my income, we'll be ok without it and all the more excited to get it back in a few years!

So, come on, don't disappoint me! Tell me we should go! Practical people need not reply!!!! Just kidding....thanks! :cheer2:

I say...GO! You've got it paid for and you are all looking forward to it! I think it would be a positive move to take the "last blast" as a kick-off for the expected new arrival!

:wave2: Hi from Euless! :)

Go! Have fun and enjoy the time with the kids!

Congrats on your news too!

I say go!! :cool1: If you put it off you never know when you will make it back out there with a new "littleone" .. I say go while you can and enjoy it..

i say go as well. but make sure you let the kids know you guys prob wont be going again for a while.

and by the way, congrats!

I would go! Dh and I had planned a trip w/our 2 youngest <almost 8 years ago> when I found out I was pregnant! We still went and had a blast!
I was 7 1/2 months when we went! :)

I saw GO GO GO, unless you usually have bad morning sickness and won't enjoy it.............sorry you said no practical replies :rotfl: Have a magical trip and enjoy this "last blast".

Congrats, Calie

So you haven't told your daughters yet about the new baby? Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could tie in the good news with the trip somehow? Make it a "We're celebrating a new family member by going to Disney" trip. Your daughters would always associate the addition with wonderful memories of a magical place and that can only have a positive impact. :cloud9:

So I vote Go....and live it up! :teeth:

Go. Go now. Don't stop to think. Go. Why aren't you there yet? :teeth:

I think you absolutely have to go!

Look at it this way...You don't want your daughters to resent the new baby because it cost them a trip to DisneyWorld, do you?

Ok, so you're using the kids....Sometimes you just gotta' do what you gotta' do.;)

Go! Especially go now because it will give you some good times with the kids before you are busy with the baby. Congratulations!

THANK YOU GUYS!!! I knew I could count on you to make me feel better! DD9 was counting her money in her safe today for Disney and that's what triggered this thread...I couldn't take it!!! DH says we CAN go, but he still thinks it would be better not to and so I feel guilty. Hey, on the bright side, I can still work three months of the next school year so I'll make most of the trip money back! Well, some of it anyway...I'm sure I'll need to be an aid, not the lead teacher or it wouldn't be fair to the class. Anyway, I'm just going to keep thinking we're going and hope DH changes his attitude so we can enjoy it!

Thanks! :goodvibes

My vote is go and tie it together with the wonderful news that they are getting a new sibling. Congrats!

Congratulations!! How exciting - and you have two little babysitters already! :rotfl: Mine are almost 8 and 5 - I think I would faint if I found out we were expecting another one!

I would definitely go! You will still be feeling well - and you can maybe tell them there! Perhaps Mickey can help you tell them! ::MickeyMo

Go have a great time - you will have so much fun! Lavish love and attention on your two girls - it will be one of the last times they have a vacation without little sis or little brother!

By the way - they have adorable t-shirts for sale at Old Navy - that say "big sis" and "little sis" - they are in the girls section - the big sis is aqua with a pink heart and the little sis is yellow with blue letters. My girls got them in their easter baskets and love to wear them together! Maybe they can BOTH have big sis shirts! :o)

Just as a little something to tell your hubby that might sway him....how resentful do you think your children might be if they think/realize they would not get to go because of the newest member. There may be some jealousy to begin with---this would not help. I say "go!!," letting your girls enjoy being the centers of your attention because in a few months, your attention (and lots of other peoples) will be elsewhere.

PS Congrats to your and your family on the expansion. :grouphug:

...and of course yours will read, "amniocenti sis", yes? :rotfl:

Seriously, Congratulations! ...and I say go to Disney too...no question. Your older children will have lots of busy helping days ahead of them...I'd give them a TIA with this trip.

As someone who's children are now 19, 15, and 13, with the oldest off to university in the fall, I wish I could go back and do more, see more and take advantage of more vacations with them! The time goes by so fast and I think the best thing you could do is stick with the trip and enjoy every darn minute of it! :goodvibes

GO!!!! I went to Destin, FL for a long week-end (yes, we drove) on the 4th of July and my son was born on July 30. OK, he was 2 weeks early, but I was BIG! And, for the rest of my life I'll be grateful that hubby took me (I wanted to go so much more than he did).

Of course, check with your doctor to be sure it's OK. My doctor wouldn't come right out and tell me that I could take my trip, he just gave me the name of a doctor and FL and didn't tell me NOT to go. Close enough!

And, my now 8 year old son is just fine.

Anita

Oh, congratulations!!!!!!!!
