Should we blame Shanghai for the Condiment Downgrade?

wow, they are cheapskates! I don't consider myself that picky but I only like that brand (Heinz).

They make Red Gold where we live, so that is what we buy. It's not generic, its actually really good, but that is what we are use to.

We live in Red Gold territory as well.
While I prefer Heinz, Red Gold is acceptable.
Anything but Hunts.....:crazy2:

So, all joking aside, are the condiments purchases under contract much like the Coke or Pepsi? They do purchase a lot, and given that I just read on another thread that some people bring their own tuna and use the Mayo from the parks restaurants to make their tuna salads, a better price might make sense.

Uh oh. Are we approaching days when we will have to ask for condiments that are stashed behind the counter?

I envision a sign like they have at my school cafeteria:

"One packet of ketchup per tray. Additional packets: 10 cents each."

When they are not used for the items we buy from the restaurant, but as our personal groceries, it may indeed be next.

For what I have observed,Disney dies not create a scene over these practices, they simply change how people can access the supplies. Look at the refillable mugs. You still can fill your mug, but you now have the chip in place to keep folks honest.

Yep.

How many people make tuna salad with Disney's mayo? I've read about people here suggesting that visitors bring bagels and use Disney's cream cheese.

And of course there were always people that used their own mugs for soda. Heck people even try it now with coffee, hot chocolate and sweet tea.

I am not a fan of ketchup. I only eat it on fries and that is only when they are not good by themselves (like Wendy's for example), there is not any good ranch dressing available the fries need some help. The only ketchup I will eat is Heinz. Hunts tastes bitter and too acidic to me. Almost like it is old. Any other run-of-the-mill ketchup I have tried is pretty much the same. As somebody who really does not like it, I can see why this is an issue for people.
