Hmmm...that makes good sense....so would you use FP+ for your EMH time or use EMH time as standby and then FP+ later in the day or at the hopper park?
Many thanks!
EMH as standby and fastpass later, though we usually schedule FP for the first park of the day. As others mentioned, FP isn't offered during EMH and you don't need it (at least for morning EMH at MK - don't know about Pandora at AK, but you wouldn't need it for Safari or Everest). And not all rides are open during EMH.
So for example, for a morning EMH at MK we might ride Space Mountain a couple times right when the park opens for EMH (you should get to the park at least 15 minutes before it opens if not earlier), then ride Buzz a time or two, then perhaps Pooh if we have time, and by then it will be about time for regular open and we'll head over to ride Big Thunder and Splash first thing with no wait, and then perhaps Haunted Mansion. Then we might have FP beginning around 9:15 for say Pirates, then Jungle Cruise, then 7 Dwarfs. We won't actually use our first FP until towards the end of the window, around 10:15, then we'll ride Pirates at 10:15, go ride Jungle Cruise around 10:40 (with the 10:15-11:15 PF), then head over to 7 Dwarfs and ride that at 11:15 (using the 11:15-12:15 FP), then head back to the resort for lunch and pool time. For the evening park we'll try to schedule whatever FP is available and looks decent, or we'll just ride standby whatever doesn't have too long a line.
Sometimes we will go to morning EMH (or just regular RD) and ride what we can standby with little to no wait, then when it gets busy we head back to the resort for lunch/pool, then we'll have FP for the evening park. Only reason I don't like doing that as much is because I like having flexibility in the evenings regarding which park we go to.
