Should the Mall have kicked her out?

A mall is private property I guess so they can do what they want, but I would bet that she bought those shorts at that mall. Ironic isn't?

Not only that but she was approached by security and told she had to leave in the very store she purchased them!

Perhaps she should have taken them off right there and demanded her money back! ;) Just kidding!

If they tried to do that here they may as well close the mall.

I've seen girls half her age wearing half as much. Those are the ones who should be tossed out of malls. Not a 24-year old woman wearing a body-appropriate outfit like this.

We moved from Chesapeake last September. I clearly remember waitresses on the VA Beach boardwalk being fined by police for wearing their work uniforms- Hooters-esque. I think this has all gotten a bit out of hand in that area.

I see nothing wrong with that outfit if she was there shopping & the weather outside justified it (hot). If she was working at the mall in that, I would have a problem.

Now on other hand, you wouldn't catch me in that outfit. But I wish I could.

She looks to have a small butt to me & don't think that there was really much if anything hanging out.

It's a sucky situation but there sin't much anybody can do. I do agree it looks like her butt would be showing in the back, and personally I don't mind a policy that says that is not allowed.

As for what the stores sell, the stores are not the mall. Ever walked into Spencers? Half the stuff in there would be against most codes because of profanity and crude pictures. Better keep those itmes in the bag once you leave the store.

That's sickening. I can't even fathom "telling on" someone at the mall for what she was wearing-even if it was something profane. I can't fathom mall security saying "you're absolutely right ma'am, we'll ask her to leave." Ridiculous. Why can't people just MYOB and look away. :sad2:

I've seen worse clothing choices walking around Disney and the local high schools! I am pretty sure there were at least 10 other women wearing shorts just as bad that day. The malls around here couldn't afford to remove those who wear short shorts.

And anyway, who honostly has the time to search out the mall security to complain about someones clothing choice?

I think that's wrong to pick on her since most young girls are dressing like that these days. If they want to do something about it at the mall, they need to do something to everyone and not just single one person out. I personally wouldn't dress like that, but at least she has the body that is most appropriate for an outfit like that.

I saw a girl at our mall with shorts on that looked like underwear. They were short like the girl's pictured, but also STUCK ON so tight. My DH likes to ask me if my *** is hungry whenever I wear something like that around the house. She was very small and nice looking as well but I think they would look a lot better to be dressed in something that looked like more than underwear. Do they need attention that bad???

Compared to what they wear to go Grocery shopping here in my store. There was a woman I checked out just last week, she had her top 2 buttoms un-bottoned, with her bra and ****s showing.....she acted as if there was nothing wrong with the way she looked. :confused3

Boy, would I like to have a life where the only thing I had to worry about was that some young, pretty, in shape girl was wearing short shorts.

At first glance it doesn't look that bad (although I think those shorts are pretty short). She says that they didn't show anything but her legs and yes, I can see that being true if she was just standing there like she is in the picture. But that wouldn't be true if she were sitting down or bending over...because shorts ride up when you do that. And I'm sure that she did at least some of that with such a young son. For there to have been enough complaints to ask her to leave, there had to have been more showing than just some legs...especially when someone mentioned that others have shown up to that particular mall wearing similar things.

That said, I work in a mall and what I see on a daily basis just sickens me (and it's way worse than what this woman is wearing)...and those people are never asked to leave. It's amazing what parents let their kids get away with.

My opinion:

I think the girl looks like a hooker. The shorts are short, but the top looks like underwear. The two together are skanky looking. I would love it if more places would enforce a dress code.

I'm on the side of the mall IF it is equally enforced. If they selected her to throw out because she's black and looks like a hooker, and allow white kids who dress like streetwalkers to run around the mall, then nail them to the wall.

eta: Even though I hate Hooker Wear, I wouldn't go tattle on her or ask for her removal.

The mall should start enforcing a dress code in what people wear when they also enforce a dress code in what they sell.

Agreed! While I really, really hate seeing somebody's butt cheeks hangin' out of their shorts, I think the mall was incredibly hypocritical to kick her out.

No, looks fine to me. I wouldn't have said anything. Can't believe they kicked her out.

I don't think she was inappropriately dressed for a trip to the mall.

However, not for the reason that "she bought them in express, she should be able to wear them there" (not saying that that was the OP's argument).

I mean....I might buy a thong bikini at the mall, doesn't mean I can wear it there! (please note, I would never buy a thong bikini :lmao: )

While I think those shorts are too short (for me!) I see nothing wrong with how she looks. I think that looks better than the muffin tops I see and the low cut shirts all but showing the female chest area off. I also would rather see short shorts than thongs and butt cracks showing over the top of low rise pants when someone sits or bends over.

I see nothing wrong. It's not what I'd choose to wear, but, then again, I'm 41. Were the back of the shorts shaped like a thong or something vulgar? :teeth: I have seen many young girls and older women wearing a lot less at the mall and even at school. :sad2:

BTW, I think she's a very pretty girl, she doesn't look like a hooker. Maybe someone that she knows is jealous and decided to make the complaint. Who knows? I have seen the clerks at Macy's with their "girls" bulging out of their low-cut tops, which was very inappropriate (IMO), but evidently Macy's management doesn't have a problem with it. :confused3

I think she looks nice.

If I am at the mall, I have better things to be doing than get someone kicked out becuase I don't like what they're wearing.I've seen people come into the mall from the city pool wearing shorts and a bikini top. :confused3
