absolutely not. we live in a very nice gated community. but thanks for the shot. I'm speaking of Tampa traffic in general. we saw the same thing around Chicago.
I do think it's interesting you compare smokers to the poor.
--------------------
It wasn't a "shot" by any means - sorry if you thought it was.. When I was staying at my sisters house in another city there was a certain area of that city that I had to drive through where it seemed the smokers far outweighed the non-smokers and sadly, it definitely was not what you would consider the "better" side of town.. One or both parents would often be sitting out on their "stoops", with their children sitting beside them (or in between them), and they would be smoking up a storm.. If these people owned vehicles, I wouldn't really be surprised if they smoked with the children in the car as well..
On the flip side of that, the neighborhood that I used to live in, you didn't see that sort of thing.. That's why I was surprised when you made it sound like you see this behavior on a constant basis.. I assumed you were talking about the type of neighborhood I described above simply because I haven't witnessed it myself in the better neighborhoods.. Not to say it doesn't happen, but if it does happen here, it's very far and very few between..
Poor people smoke, not-so-poor people smoke, and rich people smoke.. Shoot, the
doctor I used to work for smoked, but she didn't do it with her son in the car.. It just seems that a significant portion of the people who live in depressed areas don't consider smoking around their children to be that big of a deal and in my personal experience, those are the only areas where I have seen consistent behavior of the kind you are referring to..
Sorry if I offended you in any way, but you really threw me off when you made it sound like you see this on a constant, continual basis..
