Should online instantly reflect changes made via phone?

This is only my second reservation since purchasing points so trying to figure out if this is normal OR something is wrong.

I have a reservation for 6 night at AKL-Savanna view.

Yesterday I called to change that reservation to 5 nights and then add 2 nights in a AKL-value studio.

When I called I had 4 pts. in my 2015 use year and now I show 26 (the refund of points for the reduction of one night in the savanna room) but NO other changes are showing up. It even lists me as still staying 6 nights in the Savanna room. And there is no new reservation for the value room.

I called a few hours later yesterday because it seemed odd but they just said there were notes on my account (wouldn't tell me what) and that it could take 48 hours. It still looks that way this morning. That doesn't seem right. Thoughts?
 
That's not the way that it used to work but MS, DVC website and computer systems have been having major issues for the last several months. Give it a few days and check your reservation again.

Thanks for the response, Bill. So are you saying that refreshing my member page every 5 minutes doesn't make the change show up sooner? ;) It's hard being patient but I will give it a try. Happy it doesn't seem too far out of the norm (I really wanted to try those value studios and they are now showing up unavailable so I hope that means I have them and not someone else).
 
I would give it a few hours. Even overnight. But if does not show up tomorrow, something is wrong and I would call.
 

It is out of the norm but there are other reports of people having trouble with reservations in the past 12 hours or so.

Normal would be that you could see it right after MS makes the change. But today I would not be too concerned especially since you have checked and MS indicates they are aware of it and working on it.
 
I had a similar experience with canceling a day at the beginning of a reservation and adding a day at the end. Coincidently(?) it involved a Value studio. My points were refunded but reservation was unchanged. It took 3 calls to member services, intervention by IT and 6 days to fix. That was just last week. It's all fixed now.
 
OP here and just wanted to update:

About 36 hours later the changes I had requested to our original reservation showed up online ( going from 6 nights to 5 nights).

My new reservation for 2 nights in the AKL Studio-Value never appeared. I called today and they DID make that reservation for me after just a bit of pressing and being on hold for awhile. She had said they had been "holding" it for me but my guess was they just didn't make the reservation and now overbooked it because it hasn't been showing up online for days (and it was for a Fri/Sat in July so we know it wouldn't still be available). So even though they made a mistake they did what they needed to do to make it right.
