Should I????????????

If you only have one day . . . . Personally, I think you get a better bang for your buck at DL.

Perhaps you could give us some more info:
Have you been to either DL or DCA before?
Have you been to the MK at WDW?
If you have been to any of those parks, how long ago was it?

This info would help in making a recommendation. Thanks!

I have been to both parks.

and i have been to MK at WDW before and that was about 4 years ago.

When are you going?

I say go for them both. Buy a 1 day hopper pass. DL is generally open later than DCA so you can enjoy both parks.

If you really only have one choice, I would go to DL. There seems to be more magic when you first enter and it carries throughout the park. With DCA, it lacks that feeling a little bit. Also I think there is more attractions to go to than DCA in one day. It would be great though if you could get a park hopper. Although, if you haven't been on Toy Story Mania, you might consider DCA. It just depends on what you're in the mood for !

I am not one to bash DCA. In fact, some of my very favorite things at DLR are in that park (Soarin', Muppets, ToT). BUT, I could never imagine spending an entire day at DCA knowing that all of the magic of DL is so close at hand.

I would pay the extra for the park hopper if that's an option, but if I only get to pick one it would have to be the original (and still the best IMHO).

What are you most interested in doing?
last year, I had a 3 day park hopper, and I ended up spending most of my time at DL, I think I need to work on my organization a bit better? ;)for I had in mind to spend more time from what I had, at DCA.

If you are only going for one day, I would suggest a 1-Day Park Hopper. Yes, DCA closes earlier than DL, and for the price you'll pay for admission, at least get a hopper so you can get your money's worth. Many visitors rush the DL gates once DCA has closed.

There's a lot of fun things at DCA, but if I had to spend a full day at either park, it would be Disneyland. DCA is a lot smaller, and it's easy to see all the important stuff (if not the entire park) in less than a day, maybe even several hours. I've been there several times during different seasons and it never seems as crowded as DL, also meaning the lines aren't as long - fast passes help too.

DCA is a good place for smaller kids, if you are traveling with small kids. DL is too of course, but if you're going with adults only, things may get a little yawny for them at DCA, which is where a park hopper would come in handy.

DCA also focuses more on Pixar, Disney channel stuff, and California / Surfin' fun in the sun themes, where as Disneyland has a more original and nostalgic feel. There's some newer mainstream things there too, but at least High School Musical 2 isn't constantly in your face.

If you go on a day where Disneyland is open early ( 8am ) and closes late ( 12midnight ) DCA is open 10a-9pm ..you should do both...

We went last saturday got there at 8am spent the morning at Disneyland riding rides and collecting fastpases, and then after lunch went to DCA and stayed there until 7pm and then hopped back over to Disneyland to use fastpasses and ride some fantasyland rides that did not have long lines after 10pm.

It was the best 16 hours of my life......

Hey....I remember Commando Bethann....asking about FPs & one day commando touring! :hippie:

Glad to hear it went well. So where's the trip report?? :bored: ;)

Just a mini-report post, here on the DL board would be great! :hyper: popcorn::

hound <-----likes to read about the "best 16 hours" of a Diser's life. :3dglasses

If I had to pick one I'd go with Disneyland. I'm not sure I would actually be able to fill a day in DCA alone. That and I'm not a huge fan of the food in DCA which would lead to me leaving for lunch. That said I love DCA as a supplemental park and if you can get a park hopper it is worth checking it out.
