Should I wait or go?

I don't know what to do, and would really appreciate advice.

I went to DLP beg of dec last year with my mum, and two dd's aged 3.5 and 1.5. I loved it, although hard work, and I think both dd's enjoyed, although were probably overwhelmed with everything, i.e. it was like they had a major sugar rush when we did a ride such as Magic Carpet, and then having the come-down when we had to wait for another ride, or just tantrums cause its a tiring/long day for them. I know when I left, I said that I wouldn't go back until they were older, and I didn't have to have a buggy with me.

But with my summer holiday well over I feel I need something to look forward to (and plan), and am seriously considering going over again in Dec, but bringing dh this time - which will make it easier for me. Dh works in education, so probably can only get to go either the week of 10th or 16th dec. I loved the fact there were only little queues when we went last dec - are the queues likely to be much worse this year because its the 20th? Would they be worse the week of the 16th as its so close to christmas?

Also, we're trying to conceive at the moment, and if lucky enough I would be preg when we'd be going over - how heavily preg, I don't know! Will that mean I won't be able to do most of the rides? (don't want to do inidiana again, but wouldn't mind BTM or similar, and definatley want to do rides with dd's.)

Both dd's will be a year older (obviously!), so will be 4.5 and 2.5. Should I wait another year before going back - are they still a little young? My thoughts on it as well, are that next year dd1 will be in school, so won't be able to go out-of-term. We could go May though, instead of Dec - would that be better? (but then I would hopefully either be heavily preg or with a newborn...)

We can get a good price for Sequonia Lodge, for €600 for 4 nights, 5 days, and when I include flights, it comes to around €1000 - for 5 days in disney!

Am I mad ... should I wait another year or two, or just tell DH to get holidays and go in dec....

I personally would go for it :goodvibes

It will be much easier with DH there and they are that little bit older.......especially if there's a chance you could be pregnant or have a new baby if you left it. I'd go and enjoy your holiday as a 4some before you welcome a new baby :goodvibes

Ps....good luck with the baby making x

If you'll be pregnant you will have to follow all security advices.
The reason is well explained in the book "Stories from a Theme Park Insider". BTM looks like a soft ride, and it mostly is. But there are times when something wrong happen and they need to stop the attraction.
In that case, a train still on the track will have to be stopped at the emergency brakes and those are not soft at all. The train will go from 50km/h to 0 in one or two seconds. If you are pregnant you don't want your lap hit the security bar at 50km/h.
So you'll not be able to enjoy many attractions, but there are the shows, the Christmas decorations, Dreams, Characters... It can be magical.

My Sister in law went when she was about 6 months pregnant and while she couldn't go on the more hard core rides like she normally did she still enjoyed herself. In my opinion the best time to go while pregnant probably is during the winter - it's less hot (one of the things that I hated about being pregnant was being hot all the time) Dreams will be on earlier so you won't feel like you have to push yourself to stay up when really all you want to do is crash and there's plenty of shows on. But then I'm biased, we went before Christmas last year and loved it. I really do feel that Christmas at Disney is something that everyone should do at least once if they have the chance, especially if they have children and your two will be the perfect age.

Thanks for the replies.

zavandor - never thought of it that way, i.e. stopping quickly, and the impact on a hopeful bump. I'm happy to stay and pics with the buggy anyway, and get DH to do the rides!

I was looking up the agenda for dec, and it seems that fantullisia (sp?) isnt' on, which I loved last year - but I suppose its been replaced by dreams. It doesn't mention any shows, but I presume they'll still have a christmas show in frontierland? and maybe some others?

I was chatting to a friend in work whose just come back from a week there, and have now got her tempted to go in dec too....
