I have looked @ JB flights for our April Break they are high which I expected but should I wait for SW to release or book with JB now??

I've never flown SW, so I can't speak to that part of your question. But I have flown JB during April vacation for the past 4 years. I always booked my airfare the day JB released it and I watched it every day until my trips. My fares never went down, but some of them did go up. I don't think you'll see JB fares go lower for April vacation, so if you find a decent fare, grab it.

Good luck! :goodvibes

Thanks, I have never flown SW on April break. I am planning on leaving on that Friday and returning MOnday in hopes that will make the price a little bit easier to swallow.......

Anyone, have any insight into SW for APril??

April break this coming year will be right near easter, which will mean that public and private schools will likely be right around the same time, leading to extra demand. If you find a JB fare you can live with, I think I'd take it, rather than waiting for SW which may or may not do any better.

JB, out of BDL seems to have very limited times to fly out. They only have two flights daily. I wish I had an idea of when SW will release!!:thumbsup2:)

I agree, this year's late April group, combined with a late Easter will result in higher airfare. I am heading down the week after Easter (May 1) and am now looking at flying out on May 2 to try to avoid the madness of the airport. I personally don't think the fares will get much better, but JB is very good about giving a credit if the price drops (SW does the same, but more restrictions on using the credits).

Any ideas of when SW will release April fares??

Wouldn't even be a choice for me. Whenever I can fly Jet Blue, I do. Whenever I can avoid Southwest, I do.

I'd book the Jet Blue ticket. Better and nicer airplane and no cattle call seating.

I do like it that on SW you can bring two pieces of luggage per passenger!!:thumbsup2:goodvibes:):thumbsup2:):goodvibes

I'm gonna keep watching but DH and I just can't justify almost $2000 for 4 of us to fly, if the prices stay this high we have decided to forget about doing April vacation and just go at another time.

I know it seems higher than I paid two years ago during Easter week. Maybe, SW will be a bit better price wise??:confused3:confused3

I went with Jetblue.... we booked for April 14-22nd out of BDL. We usually fly with SW, but am thinking that the prices will be pretty high with them too, at least I have picked out seats and the boys will be very excited to watch TV to pass the time:lmao: I know its higher than we paid last April, but it is Easter week this year, and I felt better booking now. I will watch to see if the price comes down and then I will get a credit. we paid 1,957.60 for 4 of us roundtrip, nonstop flights. Good luck with your decision;)
