Should I wait for Southwest?

I am going in October and SWA won't be posting that schedule for awhile. There's a flight on Delta available right now, however, that runs $292 round trip per person including taxes and fees. AND it's at the PERFECT times for us...we would have plenty of time in the parks and/or resorts on both our arrival and departure dates. As expensive as the SWA fares were that came out today, am I really going to do that much better on Southwest? Or should I grab these Delta tickets and go?

Don't forget the prices that came out today are for summer months. October should be cheaper.....

Good point. I priced my trip as if it were mid-August and it was insanely expensive. Hopefully October will be better. I have heard that the prices on SW are getting more and more like the other airlines though.

Southwest's winter sale fare Nashville-Orlando was $69 each way. While I doubt October would be as cheap as mid-winter, it will be a lot cheaper than what you're finding now. Nearly every air fare sale is initiated by Southwest; the other airlines then match Southwest. You definitely need to wait for Southwest to open up October bookings. Southwest's fares are not getting like other airlines's fares; the other airlines copy whatever Southwest offers.
