Should I use certified mail when sending in my contract to title company?

When sending in my contract (resale purchase) and escrow deposit to the title company, how do you suggest it be sent in? Certified mail? Signature confirmation only? Another suggestion? I did this 6 years ago but can't remember how I sent it in.

Thanks!

We sent it FedEx. The title company provided a prepaid label that I could print out.

I wouldn’t trust the post office. UPS or FedEx. At least one title company actually supplies the buyers with a FedEx label with their closing documents.

I’ve always just sent the deposit check via USPS. 2-3 day priority includes tracking.

If it's a personal check, I don't mind using USPS priority. If it's a cashier's check, than yes, overnight via FedEx or UPS. Most title company will let you make the initial deposit via personal check, unless it's a huge contract with a larger deposit amount. It's the closing docs that requires a cashier's check to ensure quick closing, but I just wire the money instead and mail the closing docs separately.

I wouldn't trust the post office with anything more than a thank you note.

I would send it fed ex or ups - and I would overnight it.

The USPS isn't even really tracking, its delivery confirmation. Half the time there is nothing on it til it gets delivered.
