Should I upgrade from POP to CBR for under $200??

We just got back from CBR. It was our 2nd time to Disney. The construction didn't bother us bc we were barely at the resort. But if this is your first trip and maybe only I wouldn't recommend it. Far to much construction to make it feel Magical. The buses can be a headach at times. I would stay with POP or maybe another moderate.

I've been playing around online and I see I could do POFQ for $450 more and AKL for $700 instead of POP. Both aren't out of the question financially but I'm debating if it will be worth it or if it would be an irresponsible use of our money. Do you think it will truly impact our experience at all?This is our first trip and possibly are only.

For us, it would be worth it to upgrade to either POFQ or AKL. For how we like to vacation the value resorts just don't work (we have tried POP and ASMO). We really enjoy relaxing around the resort (glass of wine in Victoria Falls, or Jiko bar, or coffee watching giraffes, if at AKL, or spend a night seeing Yehaa Bob if at POR/FQ) and we always take some time to hang out by the pool/hot tub. We also prefer the setup of the bus stops at the moderate and deluxe resorts and the general atmosphere. We also aren't huge CS people so the smaller CS restaurants are not an issue for us at all. Also, although we don't always eat at our resort TS restaurant I like to have one available, when my husband broke his foot on our November trip, it was nice to be able to have a good dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse while we were staying at the YC so that he didn't have to hobble much, or last week when it was pouring we grabbed a booth at The Crew's Cup Lounge and had a couple drinks and a burger for dinner instead of heading out to Epcot as was our plan.

I'm not a fan of CBR, especially with the construction, even taking into consideration the $200.

I love POP. I'd stay there. Either that or POFQ or POR. Love both of these moderate resorts

If it's in your budget, I would absolutely switch to AKL. If it were me and possibly being an only trip, deluxe is worth the splurge. A deluxe will offer a much different experience than a mod or value.

If you do go with AKL, there are some standard rooms with very nice views of the Savannah. You can request a partial view.

I wouldn't stay at a resort with significant construction going that affects the available amenities on for your first trip.
