should I take a 4 year old

Thank you all for your replies. I think what he means is that we can't go to WDW every year or even every other year, so he wants to make sure that she is old enough to remember it. I have been telling him what all of you have said about how your children talk about it years after they first go. I also think he is beginning to realize that I want to go also, because I want to see it. Today he asked me how much it cost to go. :)

Then the big risk you run is that your dd will be like mine - constantly asking when she can go back! ;) It's been slightly over a year since we went (dd was 3.75) and she still asks about once a week or so when we can go back, either directly or indirectly (having her dolls pretend to go there on vacation, for instance). But, yeah, it was definitely magical for her in a way that it wasn't for then 6.5 y/o ds, even if she was terrified of meeting any character besides Cinderella. (But, hey, that saved us a lot of time not spent waiting in lines to meet characters, lol.)

The question of how young is to young to go to WDW for me is best answered by another question.

How often do you plan on going?
Is this a once in a lifetime trip?
Will this be the first time you've ever been?

If you answer "yes" to either of those questions I would say wait to you kiddos are a little older. You do want them to remember it if you aren't going back for 10 years or so. Also, WDW is overwelming for the WDW Virgin, It will be all the more difficult with a young child.

We took my daughter for the first time at age 4. Everything was so magical and real to her on that trip, and she still talks about it.

We're going in March, and she will be 7 and my son will be 4. She is still SUPER excited, but it is different... I just don't think all the characters and such will be as 'real' to her. She'll be able to experience things this time, I think, in different ways. She'll be able to ride more of the rides and enjoy more of the shows. I'm looking forward to my 4 year old having that super wide-eyed experience that requires the innocence of the very young.

My husband also thought 4 was too young. He went reluctantly b/c of that, but now he realizes how much she got from that trip.

LOL just have your DH get on here and read what others have said :)
I took my dd when she was 3 and my son was 5! She is now nearly 14 and him 16.
We are looking to go again. I'm trying to convince my dh that it is worth it.He has never been nor has my 2 teen stepsons.

Anyhow does she remember it? Nope. But I do and it was great, she LOVED it at the time seeing all the characters and things.Plus we have all the cool pix and videos. Now this might help, my son who was 5 doesn't remember much either so the year isn't going to make that much difference.
Good Luck
