Should I Surprise the Husband with Coronado Springs?

Ah we switched to Coronado! Splurged on a King bed (made it feel worth it to know we had the King bed). I had to tell the Hubby because I couldn't hold back the excitement/nervousness (of trying a new resort)! Thanks for all the encouragement y'all! I hope we don't think it's too big or the busses take too long :scared:

You might, but I hope not. I think that people either like the resort or they do not. I liked CBR a lot, did not mind the buses, thought the food court was fine, and paid for preferred becuase I was afraid to be stuck too far out. My family hated this resort. Like they disliked every aspect, from checking in and then getting a tram ride to the building, to the noisiness in Old Port Royale, to the bus ride.

I will honestly say that for some reason CSR was not my favorite, but for not one good reason. I send people there all the time because if I am objective, the problem was me. The mousekeepers were outstanding, the manager seemed to be everywhere at once, and at every hour of the day. She was behind the counter when we checked in, outside at valet services when we wanted a cab, talking to the concierge when I was canceling an ADR. The place was spotless, the bus service timely. I liked the food. I enjoyed my morning walk for coffee, and loved the walk back in the evening when we did not get off of the bus next to our building. I hope you love your stay!

I think you made a great choice! Even though it's not a surprise anymore, the best surprises, or gifts I've ever gotten at Disney were hotel upgrades! My very first trip back in high school I planned by myself, my dad and my friend's mom were helping to pay and my friend and I were paying the other half, so I went as cheap as possible and booked an offsite cheapo motel. I don't know how they kept the secret, but it wasn't until we landed at MCO that my friend's mom dropped the bomb that we were getting on ME and staying at Pop Century! I think that was part of what sold me on the Disney magic. :)

The other surprise was at Disneyland last year, I booked Paradise Pier for my birthday trip, didn't find out til I arrived that my father had upgraded me to a theme park view. I go up to the room and look out the window and was looking at California Adventure park! It was completely magical watching World of Color from our room with room service dinner one night!

Not the exact same situation, but I think when you guys think about how you could have been at Pop Century, then arrive at a resort at GORGEOUS as CSR, you will be on :cloud9: . It's a very romantic and adult oriented resort. When we visited it was so quiet and peaceful! The views across the water were beautiful, the architecture is spot on. If you guys are early risers, I imagine that is a resort that is enchanting at sunrise. Maybe an early morning breakfast and stroll would be fun for you guys! Have a fantastic trip.

Full disclosure: I've never stayed at a value and this is the only moderate I've tried.

CSR is lovely. We particularly enjoyed the pool. Pepper Market has very good food, but I hate the ordering/paying process, especially with a child in tow. We had exceptionally good bus service during our stay and were given a choice of three rooms at check-in. With all that said, our room seemed so far from everything.

Coronado Springs is my husband's favorite resort.
