Should I stick with Apple Strollers? Recent experiences?

We rented from Apple oct 39-nov13. They were wonderful! Our stroller was waiting for us at bell services and it was wrapped up with our name on it. It was impeccably clean and practically brand new! I had a question during the trip and emails them. They replied a few hours later so excellent IMO. They are a preferred vendor for Disney and I can see why. We won't hesitate to use them again.

I rented from Baby Wheels Orlando and yes they can deliver to the resorts. Our stroller was perfect and smelled like fresh linen. When I called to make my reservation which was at last minute, the owner did tell me that they have been sold out for some weeks now and that I may get an older stroller. That may be why you had seen some that were not newer looking. Ours was orange a faded but it did it's purpose and I did not care the brightness of the color. They even gave us a 20% discount due to the fact that they were pretty much sold out.

Great to hear about another wonderful experience. We had no problems and are planning to rent from them on our next trip. :)

They're not a preferred vendor though so you have to meet them. For us that doesn't work since we drive and won't know the exact time when we're going to arrive. I'd imagine it would also be a bit inconvenient if you're flying and your flight is delayed. Maybe that's why the ones I saw were in bad shape but either way I wouldn't want to risk it considering all of the ones I did see the damage was much more then just fading and they looked pretty dirty. Of course the dirt could have just been from the current rental but who knows. I'm glad they were able to offer you a discount due to the fading and poor condition of the stroller though.

How do u even know who is preferred and who isn't? You must know the stroller people quite well or are you in the industry as I didn't know anything abt that? Learn something new every day. Needless to say, hopefully everyone gets their strollers from whoever they use and are able to enjoy their trip!!

Nope, not in the stroller industry and I don't know the stroller people. As another person posted the info is on the Disney website. :)

Thank you for sharing the link bumbershoot. :)

Our experience with Baby Wheels was amazing. The fact that they were there waiting on us for delivery was spot on. We even called same day as pick up to change and the girl who runs it said absolutely no problem and the driver called within 10 minutes to confirm the time. I am not sure what strollers you seen in the park but ours was great. No damage just fading from the sun. I have recommended them to numerous amounts of friends and family and each one of them said they would not use anyone else. I do apologize if this sounds mean but I feel your statements are as if you are trying to snow ball them. You are asking about opinions on a company but stating that you have seen the strollers in the parks. I guess I am confused. My personal opinion is they are great, will just depend on what you want for your family. It was not an inconvenience to me to meet someone to get my stroller and to have it picked up. I believe Disney made a mistake in not choosing them as a preferred vendor anyway.

I was asking questions about a different company and since I originally posted we've gone on our trip. I enjoy hearing peoples opinions and experiences which is why I come on this board. During our trip I noticed the terrible condition of another stroller (actually my DH did) and said let's remember not to rent from that company in the future. During the length of our trip we noticed additional strollers from that same company in an equally poor condition. They may offer nice strollers, who knows, but we didn't see any of those. I simply stated my opinion when you recommended them as a company to rent from. I'm not trying to "snowball" them, simply stating the poor condition of the strollers I saw on our trip and stating that they are not able to drop off at bell services for guests to pick up at their convenience.

Everyone has different opinions and everyone has to decide what works best for them. For our family that means going with Apple Strollers or another preferred stroller company.

Interesting you spent your vacation time looking at other strollers. I am was completely satisfied with my stroller as was my friends. To each their own but I don't feel the comments are fair as I would not have spent my vacation looking at other companies strollers. That sounds like something a competitor would do. J/S

How can one tell which stroller is from where? I'm renting my first stroller from Apple in January and am curious.

Yeah I wonder too as we rented a stroller in the past from one of the vendors magic strollers maybe? And there wasn't anywhere noticeable to see where it was rented from. There was a scan type sticker but it was only noticeable when the stroller was folded up.

Are you kidding me? I'm definitely not affiliated with any stroller rental company in the Florida area or in any area for that matter. When you're on vacation you still notice things around you, I do anyway, especially when I will be going on another vacation and more than likely will need to rent another stroller. It's kind of like when I look at other resorts to see where I might like to stay for an upcoming trip. If I was a competitor I wouldn't be saying nice things about the other strollers I saw from kingdom strollers as well as my pleasant experience with apple strollers. I'm planning to rent from apple again however in the event they are booked I would like to have other options. I believe disney made a good choice when deciding who their preferred vendors would be and I'm happy to stick with that list.

I never said anything bad about baby wheels until you brought them up and even then I was only stating what I saw in the parks. I can't help it if the only strollers I saw from them had torn and faded canopies. Also if anything is interesting as you put it, it would be that you only have 4 posts and they are all about baby wheels. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and it so happens to be that we have different opinions of a stroller rental company.

On the side of the stroller where the baby jogger logo is there are stickers that have the companies logo and stroller number. Some companies also have it embroidered on the front near the footrest as well.

Some of the stroller companies have their logo on the side of the stroller and embroidered near the footrest. Apple had a sticker on the side with their name and stroller number as did several other companies. Apple and other companies also had tags on them with the renters name or family's name on them. On ours we could have taken the paper out so that it wouldn't have been visible since it had my name on it but I left it in incase our stroller got lost.

I only have 4 posts because I have never been on this site nor heard of it until I received my thank you email from the company that had this discussion group on it. It asked to give feedback (good or bad). My stroller had a hanging like tag on it with the company name as well as a sort of license plate that had my family name and the company name. I am sure the strollers from other companies have some sort of way to distinguish themselves from others. As far as what you say you seen in the parks, that is neither here nor there but I am pretty sure a company would not send out something that was damaged as you say it was. Especially if their name is on it. Like I said I loved my stroller from them and would use them again in a heartbeat. I loved the fact that we had face to face connection and in a way got to know them instead of being in a blind sale. It is the little things that go a long way and that impressed me extremely. I also contacted the company and let them know that there are people on here saying that their strollers are bad. I was thanked greatly for letting them know.

I'm glad you had a good experience with your stroller rental from them. I never said you didn't. I simply stated my opinion based on what I saw in the parks. That is the whole point of these boards, to share opinions and experiences and get help in planning trips as well as helping others.

Again that was the point with my original post. It was my first time renting a stroller and I was getting nervous because of other things I read so I was looking for additional experiences and opinions from those who have used apple in the past or were planning to use them. You can't base your decisions on one persons post, only use it to help you make an informed decision which is exactly why I decided to stick with apple. I realized the positive reviews out numbered the negative reviews. I also realized the same negative reviews were posted across multiple message boards.

I'm not sure why you're so defensive when it comes to baby wheels or why you felt the need to imply that I'm a competitor (which I'm not) but either way that's not the purpose of this thread.

Wow. I just joined these boards recently as an avid cruiser and huge Disney world fan in which all the boards so far I have visited have been so helpful and welcoming of each other's suggestions and tips until this board. I'm loyal to businesses who have taken great care of my family but I wld never throw another company under the bus that I never even used or did business with as some of you have. Glad my kids are almost out of the stroller phase bc some of you are a tad harsh. Anyway. I'm not going to post to this thread anymore but just think its imp to be respectful and give your opinion but please make sure its facts for those of us that are truly using this for helpful information and tips and not a marketing tool

I'm not really sure what you're saying here but I was not trying to be rude and I'm not using this thread as a marketing tool (again I'm not affiliated with any stroller company, baby company or any company in Florida). I'm also not sure why you and the other poster are calling me a competitor just because I didn't like the strollers I saw from baby wheels. Just because I don't share the same opinion as you does not make me a competitor. If anything, your calling me a competitor so quickly and repeatedly makes me feel as though you're in some way affiliated with baby wheels which would explain why you quickly became so defensive.

I simply stated why I would not rent from a particular company when you suggested them to me. I never said that others shouldn't use them, only that I was not happy with the ones I did see and would not want to risk getting one in that condition on a trip. I'm not sure what facts you would like from me, I'm stating my opinion based on what I saw in the parks. Again that is the purpose of these boards, to share information, opinions and other information to help each other out. I've received tons of great advice on these boards and try to help others when I can. I'm sorry my opinion is not the same as yours but no one is going to agree 100% of the time.
