Should I stick with Apple Strollers? Recent experiences?

I'm already starting to stress about our trip because other then our dining reservations and a few fast pass+ I haven't planned anything. On our last trip I realized it works better for our family if we have things planned out for the day. Anyway I've read about a couple people having their stroller canceled with apple and it's starting to make me nervous about renting with them. I was already nervous about renting a stroller to begin with so I guess this just adds to it. I would love to hear about people recent experiences with them. We're suppose to be renting a double city mini.

Have a lot of people had problems with them canceling? I'm going to call to confirm today but it seems like even then someone had them cancel the day prior. I can't imagine they are the only ones this happened too. The apple strollers website doesn't even say they are fully booked like it did in October which is why it's making me nervous reading about these cancelations. If they are still letting people make reservations why are they canceling current ones? I can't decide if I should stick with them or go with another options. I know it's kind of silly to cancel based on two people's experiences but it would be hard for us not to have a stroller for our 1 & 3 year old during our trip.

For people who did have their order canceled did they at least offer you two singles or were they out of those as well?

We rented double City mini from Apple mid Oct and had no issues other than them not giving us the rain cover or drink console we asked for (they never charged us either for it). We were traveling w my sister and her fam w 3 kids, who also had rented a double city mini. Apple did cancel on her the day prior to us checking in, they had no other strollers to offer her (even singles). I reserved mine w credit card months in advance. She put the reservation in months in advance but didn't actually reserve w Credit card until she called 1 week prior to confirm, which they told her she was all set for rental. She then got the call literally 1 day prior to our checking that they ran out of strollers and there was nothing they could do for her.

They cancelled my reservation yesterday and didn't offer 2 singles as an option (I wouldn't have taken that anyway though!) But since last night I've seen 3-4 other reviews on various websites with people having the same experience - including some who HAD paid. It's a good price though if you can actually get a stroller.

Thought about more stuff to add!

The Customer Service rep told me that they are overbooked because they didn't know if people actually wanted to rent the strollers or were just getting price quotes. They're canceling those who haven't paid OR paid most recently.

So if someone booked and paid awhile ago, they're probably fine. If you paid more recently - could go either way.

I did read another review this morning though that the stroller someone got was in bad shape. Very dirty and the handlebar was all torn up.

I think they need to revisit their business model! I can understand needing payment when you book - but don't tell people they don't have to pay until 3 days prior and than penalize them for not paying early. When I booked people here on disboards were saying that the website wasn't secure so I figured I would just wait. I spoke to 2 people and received emails all stating the 3 day policy.

Did you already pay? It seems like the people that get cancelled have not paid yet. WE paid as soon as we reserved and had no problems.

I haven't paid yet. I was planning to do it over the phone this weekend since their website said it only had to be paid 3 days prior. We leave next weekend for our trip so it would be 7 days prior that I would be making my payment.

This is what makes me so nervous because this is exactly what we would be doing. If I thought it would have been an issue I would have paid when I booked. I was more comfortable paying over the phone so I figured I would just pay when I called to confirm a week prior. I booked with them last month I believe so I feel like if they are canceling orders made months in advance I don't really have much luck of keeping mine even if I call today.

What day were you getting the stroller delivered? We're suppose to be getting ours the 17th and I haven't received a call from them. I'm wondering if I'm okay or if I should be expecting a call today or tomorrow. I was the same way, I wasn't sure about the security of the site so I wanted to pay over the phone. Now I wish I would have called right after I made the reservation.

We were supposed to get it the 16th and he said they wouldn't have any until the 19th.

Haven't dealt with Apple Strollers, just wanted to give you an alternative.
We've rented a double citi mini twice in the past 6 months from Magic Strollers. Excellent Service, equipment was in great shape too! They are the owners of Owners Locker, so they are allowed to deliver on site.

Yikes, that's two days after we are suppose to be getting ours. If they won't have any until the 19th I'm not sure how we would be able to get one on the 17th. I just checked our confirmation to see if everything was still showing up on the site and it seems good to go at this point. I also noticed on our confirmation it actually only said 2 days before delivery.

I'm going to give them a call tomorrow unless I make a decision tonight. It's such a great price for a rental but it makes me a nervous wreck thinking about the possibility of not having a stroller to use for our 1 year old. I really don't want to rent one from the parks and our current double is really large so we don't want to bring it with us.

Thank you everyone for the recommendations. I will have to look into the other stroller companies and check their availability and keep them in mind if it doesn't work out with apple.

Any other recent reviews regarding condition and availability? I'd hate to cancel over two other peoples experiences but I have to admit it's making me pretty nervous. Since the handle bars are rubber on the city mini I can only imagine the condition of the rest of the stroller if the handle bar is damaged.

I'm going to call today but I need to make my decision (for the most part) before I call them since I will be giving them my payment info if we decide to stay with them.

Out of curiousity I just checked my confirmation # on their website and it still shows as valid. But when I called them back Saturday night and the Rep looked up my # he confirmed that it had indeed been cancelled!

So for anyone not sure about their reservation, don't rely on their website - I'd make sure to call.

I ended up calling today for this exact reason. I didn't want to rely on just the website confirmation and I wanted to be sure I spoke with someone before giving them payment information. Everything was still as it should be and they said as long as there is a cc on file for the reservation I won't have any problems. It seems like it should be okay since they don't seem to be fully booked for my dates so I'm hoping it will all work out.

I also checked with a few other companies and they all had availability for my dates so if they do happen to cancel on me I'm hoping one of the other companies would still have availability at that point. I figure worst case scenario is we just take our own stroller with us. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

I used them a few weeks ago and my stroller was in excellent condition!

I'm happy to hear that. :) I've been reading more about them and it seems like the majority of reviews are still pretty positive which makes me feel better about sticking with them.

Silly question, but did they have a tag with your name on it attached to the stroller? If so did it stay on during your entire trip? I was going to make a tag/sign of some sort for it but if it already has one I won't worry about it and then I can cross one more thing off of my to do list. Lol

Just wanted to post an update for anyone worried about their reservation through apple. I called just under a week before our trip to provide payment info and to confirm and they assured me a stroller would be there and sure enough our stroller was delivered to the resort and we picked it up today. :)

Its very clean and smells just like dreft. It does have normal wear but nothing extreme or unusual, just your normal scuff marks from being used on a daily basis. I would definitely recommend them! :)

Thank you for the update! We leave in 2 weeks and I was in major panic mode due to everyone's recent issues.

Have a great trip!

Also, some of you may wanna consider baby wheels Orlando as we have used them and they are great and super clean strollers and the owners are super sweet and helpful as well. Several people I know use them when they visit Disney and have had the same results

Just spoke to a friend who just returned from the World last week. They used Apple Stroller. The stroller arrived clean and on time and they were quite happy with everything. A smooth transaction.

I'm going to stick with them for now and hope for the best.

We just got home yesterday and used Apple and love them.
They called to let me know the stroller might be a little late, but since Magical Express had a long line by the time we got there our stroller was there.
It was clean and in great working condition.
I would definitely rent from them again.

That's exactly how I was too. After reading everything again (unless I missed posts with a negative experience) it seemed like it was only a couple of people who had problems which made me feel better. At first I thought it was a lot more then that and then I realized it was just posted across multiple websites by the same person.

I called a couple times before our trip and that definitely helped me feel better.

I thought baby wheels couldn't deliver to the resorts? Also the strollers I've seen from baby wheels have all been really faded and looked pretty rough and I've seen quite a few in the parks. I was actually surprised at the condition of the ones from baby wheels, maybe only some are like that but I know that if I received ones in the condition that I saw I would have been requesting a different one.

I did see nice ones from, I believe it was, Kingdom strollers. So if we still need a stroller for our next trip I'll be booking with either apple or kingdom strollers.
