Should I Stick w/Pop?

Yep, I'm already planning our second trip! Of course, It won't happen until late 2009 or early 2010, but still! Woohoo!

I'm wondering if we should stay w/Pop or try something else. This was our very first trip and we wanted to make the most out of it (silly dh thought it would be the only trip--little did he know he'd be hooked and be the one to suggest we go back ), so we literally spent time at Pop only to shower and sleep and go to the food court in the morning (well, we did go to the computer and petal pool one time each, for about 30 minutes each time). We spent zero downtime at the resort.

I'm wondering whether this next time we'll want to spend a little more time in the room, kwim? I honestly have not a clue right now. Is it worth it to upgrade to a higher level resort? What determines that? If I deem upgrading not rational for us, what other value should I look into?

Also, I'm still trying to figure out the timing of the trip. I'm leaning towards the holiday season in 2009 because I want to see the decorations. What events (like Pop Warner) do I need to worry about? Our first trip was wonderful, as far as crowds go. It would be nice to continue to experience manageable crowd levels ...

Sounds like you had a great time! I really like Pop, but I like to try new things even more. You might like ASMu, it has been renovated last year, or you even might get a good deal on AKL or WL if you pay attention to codes, etc. I would go after around the first week of Dec. That is value season if I remember right, and also low crowds and decent prices. Have fun!

We really enjoyed POP......I dont think you can beat it for the price...We tried AS Sports.....I was not impressed after staying at POP.....I wouldnt recommend any other value resort than POP...POPs food court and store blow away anything else in the value range.
We have an upcoming trip in Sept. I orig. booked POP, but changed without my wife knowing.....it will be a surprise for her........We will stay at POR....we love it there.....the price has jumped up quite a bit over the years.....($150nt)......we really enjoy the boat ride to DTD and it makes it worth it for us.....
We love POLY but have only stayed there when they had a special (pay for 4 nights, get to stay 7).........Like other poster said....watch WL & AKL both great resorts.......and they seem to run specials........
Try early December to get the most out of your trip!!! GOOD LUCK and just keep reading on these boards......

I would try something different. Pop is fine but there are so many great resorts at Disney and it is fun to try different ones at different times of the year. We like the Poly any time of year, we love OKW during spring/summer, and we do WL in the winter months. Even trying a different value resort makes it a whole new experience. have fun!

I have never stayed at Pop, but I would try a different resort. Check out the website and you can see what the other's have to offer. Have fun planning your next trip!

I always thought I would want to try all the resorts until I had a great time at POP. We have stayed at CS, POR, Swan, Dolphin. All of the other resorts were nice but just as much walking to get to the room or more. Our room was just as quiet at the POP as any of the others. I actually felt safer walking alone at POP than the others. This may be due to the fact that there are people around outside at any time. I actually figure I bought my new laptop with the money we saved last year from staying here instead of one of the other resorts. The only thing I don't *love* are the overcrowded busses. I guess I can live with that though.

If you're looking to save money and you liked Pop, stay at Pop. I think it's the best value on property.

Absolutely love the Pop! You can't go wrong with the price! It's colorful, fun, and the CMs are wonderful there. And sure, I could spend more to stay at a moderate or deluxe, but then I wouldn't have as many days in the parks! I'll be staying at Pop for the third time this December and I am so looking forward to it!
