Should I skip the rides that I've been on at DLR for our first WDW trip?

Over Easter with the limitations of the new FP+ system unless you are willing to do stand-by in the same line for 2-3 hours each time then I also don't see doing that many rides multiple times. FP+ is practically worthless at Epcot. Personally, I am only willing to do that for a couple of things. Once I've spent 2 or 3 hours of my day in one queue I'm done and ready for a change of scenery. My DH and DS will do it for Splash & BTM & SM at MK & for TOT but after I do it once I'm done. Wish MK had some single rider lines…that's how we ride TT and RNR… Easter week is a whole animal of it's own. You are just lucky to get to do something once.

Even w/ that many days??? Im guessin, now this is hypothetically speaking. Lets say it's EMH at Epcot....She stated that she probably won't do Soarin ( which is virtually the same ) So I'd FP+, MS & Figment & the TT....I'd do TT ( stand By ) 1st, right at RD, & then head over & do Nemo, & on to 1st FP, 2nd FP, & the LAND, by this time you may get to do your 3rd FP TT... SE is never more than 15 minutes, nor mexico ride, or Ellen Energy ride......Innivention East & west, too can be done in a couple hours, leaving time later for a 4th fp +.... Just my $.02

I am of the opinion that our Splash Mountain is better in WDW, (as well as Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror), but I wouldn't skip any of it if you actually have the time. I suggest checking out a touring plan to see how much you can get done...you may be able to fit in rides you thought were going to be identical into your plan. I personally wouldn't nix them outright.

Don't forget LM, Queue line ,,,,,Way different at WDW, and also the new Peter Pan Queue.

Rides always are almost the same, but we value the queue lines as part of the ride too....

Some others have mentioned that Space M is better at DLR, but I cant remember...I know the seating was different, but I kinda like the new and improved version at WDW....

Also Grizzly Peak is definitely better at CA, than Kali River in AK....>Except you get more wet in AK...( Or at least I DO..LoL ):umbrella:

For me, I'd think it would be fun to see how the attractions you're used to at DLR differ at WDW.

Even w/ that many days???

I don't consider 7 days to be that many. You're not even getting two full days in each park. Battling jet lag on top of it...that's a short trip.

Space at WDW is like Matterhorn at DL.

Space at DL is nothing like WDW's at all. They shouldn't even be called the same thing.

Hahah No way...Nothing is like Matterhorn...Not even matterhorn is like Matterhorn....lol

I actually like the newer WDW version. It seems smoother n faster & not to mention Pitch Black.....I remember the days of wearing sunglasses on the ride to enhance the experience..:confused3

I'm with bumpershoot - Space is better at DL and 6-7 days is NOT a lot of time for a week that sees full capacity at MK some days. (Have you ever been over Easter week? It's a ZOO!!) With only 3 FP's a day that's NOTHING compared to how many you could do with the old system. We would sort of follow a plan like what the easywdw.com crowd calendar would suggest and somewhat avoid parks with EMH's. What we DO do is both AK and Epcot on EMH opening days (would try to be there 30-45 min. before rope drop) and save our FP+ for a different park in the afternoon / evening. Epcot just doesn't have that many things to use them on - esp. if you're skipping Soarin'. Save them for a better use later. If the OP doesn't like SM or TOT then she's NO WAY going to like Mission Space. The other rides there aren't worth wasting the FP's on. If she stays at BC or YC she can come in thru the back door sometime to do the WS & Illuminations one evening. The new FP+ system is of little to no value at some parks. We actually never schedule them for mornings but save them for later in the day when the parks are packed. Since we park hop that means going standby in our morning parks.

I wonder if the OP does CA Screamin? FWIW we think EE at AK is one of the best rides in all of the 4 parks combined and if the OP skips it she's missing out…we beeline right over there on EMH's and ride it 2 or 3 times standby and once the reg. park hours start we ride it one more time with single rider before we move on (we don't like to criss cross that park too much). (In the good old days we would also grab a FP for EE as soon as the reg. park hours opened and they opened the FP machines.) That is the ONE RIDE worth riding over again and that we're not satisfied only riding once - but it is totally doable multiple times with the single rider line.

Absolutely 1 of the best rides ever, but this has to do with the way that the queue line leads you..It puts you in the story long before you enter the train..

My DW doesn't like crazy rides anymore, but will ride this at least twice every trip...

I'd like to add that Winnie the Pooh is much better at WDW. Buzz has some different scenes, but some people don't like the fact that the "laser gun" is fixed to the vehicle.

I would recommend TSMM once in the morning, before the lines get too long, to experience the queue, which is much better than at DCA.

It's true that Fantasmic! is better at DL, but if you have the time, I still recommend the WDW version because is has some effects you won't see in Anaheim. Plus, you actually get seating!

By the way, the water parks are a lot of fun, and definitely something you won't get at DLR. You can add them as an option on your multi-day ticket.

I have not even started looking into DTD because to be honest, just researching the parks and resorts at WDW is overwhelming! I sort of thought we could skip DTD all together. But maybe that is something that I will tackle later on in the planning, once I get a grasp on our park plans. How much time is enough in DTD? Would dinner there one night and walking around a bit be enough?

If you add the water parks and more option to your ticket, you'll also get Disney Quest at DTD. If you can squeeze it in, your kids will probably love it, because it has tons of arcade games and 3D games that you can play for free.

Lots of great advice here so my two little cents are to ride the monorails if it makes sense for where you're staying. They are much more scenic and longer than at DL. Taking the ferry boat between EP and DHS is a nice relaxing break too.

Wow, so much information to digest! Thank you to everyone for responding!

Between my motion-sickness and my daughter's fear of some roller coasters, we have never actually been on California Screamin'. But I watched a video of Everest, and I think we would do it at least once! I think I might try to persuade my DD to also try ToT. She will be 9 or 10 by then, so hopefully she'll be willing to give it a try.

Thanks everyone!
