Should I ride Flight of Passage?

I'm really excited to try this ride, but I'm worried I'll feel nauseated while on it. I can handle Soarin' and generally all the roller coasters. However, the last times that I rode Expedition Everest and Star Tours, I did NOT feel good and didn't feel like going on any more rides.

Unfortunately, you will only know after you've tried! No way to know before hand as everyone handles it differently. I can ride Star Tours (have to close my eyes at times), but FOP sort of did me in. I felt very 'off' during parts of the ride and about an hour after. Wasn't nauseated, just a weird 'floaty' feeling. Dh loved it, and used his and my other 2 FP's. :)

It was all the swoops and fast changing of scenery, I suppose. I may try again another trip as I know it was an excellent ride. I have a bad eye astigmatism, so know that contributed to it.

Good luck! Try it - if you have to close your eyes most of it, at least you have tried, nothing lost!!

I did it.....and loved it.
Blows Soarin away.
I can't ride Star Tours.....this only bothered me a very little on the side ways sweeps, the rest was fine. I would ride it again.....and again

I did not do well with Star Tours, Expedition Everest, or Space Mountain.

I was fine on Flight of Passage. It's an amazing ride, and YES, you should ride it!

I just got home last week and I rode FOP while I was there.

Normally I have issues with motion sickness AND of course I forgot my motion sickness tablets at the hotel that day. However, I was mostly fine on FOP. There was a loop sort of moment that did make me ever so slightly queasy for a moment but I was fine within minutes of hitting fresh air and it really wasn't awful in the first place. And there was no sudden drop sort of feeling which is often one of the things that gets to me.

Well I am in the minority as I love Star Tours, doesn't make me sick at all. I also love Soarin. That being said FOP was far more intense. I had to close my eyes several times because I just couldn't take it. I did ride it twice however, and would probably try it again.

I had the same questions before I went and received advice here that helped me decide to ride it. I do not do any roller coasters at all. Well, I ended up riding FOP 5 times during 3 visits to AK a couple weeks ago. I just could not get enough of it. Go for it, and have an awesome flight!

In case you do have a problem there is ginger ale in the soda machine as you enter the gift shop as you exit the ride.

Just wanted to follow up - I got to ride it this week and loved it! I did take some non-drowsy dramamine (aka ginger) ahead of time as a precaution, and I felt totally fine! I did close my eyes during the drop that seemed like it was also a corkscrew. Immediately after getting off the ride I felt a little off, but it was the same feeling I have after getting off a treadmill and felt fine a minute later. Just as a previous poster mentioned, it was like Soarin' on steroids! I'm so glad we got to ride it!

I actually went on Soarin' the next day and felt more queasy on that (though I just closed my eyes and then felt fine, so it clearly the visual that messes with me).

Glad you enjoyed it!

My DD also gets motion sickness on the simulators type rides so she took the ginger pill route as well.

Of the eight times we rode in Nov. she forgot them once and paid for it for a few hours. Those ginger pills really work well.

That's good to know that the ginger works so well! I'm glad the ride ended up being a positive experience for you, OP. I bought some of that ginger dramamine too so hopefully it'll help me on buses and Soarin.'
