I got a fondue set that comes with the pan, sticks, and a lazy susan at the 75% off Target Xmas Clearance. It was only 5., but the box was torn open. I bought it, hoping everything was inside. Only problem is, there's no direcions, so I can't tell if everything is included. It looks like it is, but I'm not sure. I've only had chocolate fondue once, several years ago. I bought this on a whim, based on the yummy fondue recipes that surfaced on this board during the holidays. This is supposed to be good for all kinds of fondue (chocolate, etc), but there's no directions, and a slip of paper in the heating part mentions something about only using gel heat.... Where do you get that, and is it expensive? Should I just return this?

I would type the brand name/serial number into google and try and find a picture that shows everything to make sure you have what you need. Also, if you can find the company's contact info, you can call or write them for a copy of the directions. That's what we did when we bought an expresso machine at a Big Lots-type place (Mardens, for anyone from Maine) and it didn't have any directions, either.

As for the gel heat, those aren't that hard to find. They are like what you see on a buffet under chaffing dishes. Check party supply stores, food stores, etc - or even buy them online.

Hope that helps!
