Should I rent a double stroller? Other stroller questions!

We are traveling to Disney soon with 4 kids - 8, 6.5, 4.5, 2.5.

Should we rent a double stroller for the 4.5 and 2.5 year old? This is the way I am leaning because I think the 4.5 y.o. will need a break and the 6.5 and 8 y.o. might need breaks as well.

1) What do you do if you take a ride on the railroad and leave the stroller in one spot and arrive at a different spot? Or do you just not do that if you have a stroller?
2) We could probably get a twin double savvy to use, but I'm not sure if it is better to bring one or rent one. My impresssion is that the rented double stroller are more sturdy and easier for bigger kids. I am not sure if it would even work to push a 4.5 and 2.5 in a twin savvy.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Even after reading the allears stroller FAQ, I am still in a quandry.

When you board the train take you name plate. When you get off at the new station you can pick up a new stroller. Put your name plate in and off you go. :)

It's really that easy? What if there isn't another double stroller where we arrive? What if people leave their stuff on them? Is that a silly question? Are there just TONS of strollers?

Now with the Scooters, electric wheelchairs, triple strollers, double wide strollers and the HUGE unwieldy rental strollers at $10 a day, the parks are a gauntlet.

The strollers I saw in Sept. were wide, hot and the kids looked uncomfortable (even in the morning's start).

If you are a Resort guest you can send your packages back - IF you are not you know the stroller catches everything (and resembles a sherpa on the Everest mission).

In the dark ages (kids 30, 22 & 19) The Umbrella strollers were the most nimble and possibly most comfortable. EPCOT has them for sale if you have not picked up or borrowed one before your trip.

The paths in WDW are horribly congested due to the motorized guests zipping at whirlwind speeds-watch your toes! People of all ages are using their post surgical time (from the looks of the braces, packings, splints etc) to rent a scooter and go the see the mouse. So there are alot of inexperienced drivers impatiently trying to get to the next Fastpass Kiosk!

Happy and safe vacationing.

If you rent a stroller then you have to leave it at the exit to the park and carry your sleeping children to either the car or to the bus and then to your resort room.

I would definitely bring my own stroller.

We are bringing ours for our 2yo. Our 6yo may get tired, but we are only doing two late nights (one is MVMCP) so if we need to we'll rent one at the parks for those two nights.

I understand that stroller rentals are free on party nights!

If you have a double (the twin savvy) I'd bring it rather than renting. My kids are going to be about the same age when we go in Jan and we will be bringing ours for sure. My oldest is a stroller rider and will ride the entire time. We have a mac ralley twin and it works great.

Renting a stroller would also work for you, I just don't think they are as comfy.

But the rental strollers alwats seem bigger and easier to push than my twin savvy (especially with bigger kids). And what do you do if you ride the railroad with your own stroller? Do you fold it up and take it with you?

my 4 yr old did not need one till after the afternoon nap
return to the park:cool1:

Rentals are bigger (or at least they seem bigger). They are just made of hard plastic so imo are not as comfy. But, they work fine. Our stroller folds up find for the railroad and trams. We just fold it up and jump on with the kids.

I can't imagine two kids 2.5 and 4.5 fitting in a twin savvy - we have one and it is nice and light, but those seats are not very big. Can you just try them in it before borrowing it? If that doesn't work for you, I'd bring a single umbrella for the 2.5yo and rent for the older kids if needed (yes, even your 6.5yo may want a ride from time to time).

If you go on the train with your own stroller, you fold it up and bring it with you.

I brought the Peg Perego Twin Aria, which folds up pretty flat, and I brought it on the train. I'm not sure how the Combi folds.
