Here's my very minor dilemma that I know you campground experts will be able to help with. We are staying at the WL but are going to Hoop dee doo revue on December 23rd at 5:00. We should exit right at 7:00.

We are DYING to take a tour of the campground afterwards to see the Christmas decorations. We saw a show on the Travel Channel about it once and all the decorations look really cool. The kids would love it.

There is a free hour long wagon ride leaving Pioneer HAll that night at 7:00. Given the date [12/23], is it easy to get on the wagon ride, or are there lines and crowds? Do they have more than one wagon?

To avoid worrying about this, I've thought of two alternatives. We would rent private carriages [need two b/c we have 5] for a half hour tour costing $70 total. Alternatively, I was thinking we could rent a golf cart for the day [about $50 right?] and use it that night to drive around.

Finally, are the decorations worth it or are they few and far between?

THANKS!

I agree , the cart, best way by far.
And when you are done look'n at the Forts decorations, don't whine when I'm sitt'n in the WL hot tub.:rotfl2: We don't have one at the Fort yet.

I would say cart but I don't know what time the rental place closes for you to return it?

If you rent a cart you would need to pick it up before they close the rental. I'm pretty sure they have a night drop box for the keys so I don't think it would matter when you returned it that evening (call the bike barn to be sure about the hours and drop box). The carrige ride or hayride will only take you through a few fo the loops. With the cart you can go at your own pace and see all the loops. Then you could take it to the back of the 300 loop and walk out to the beach to see the fireworks. After you return it just hop a bus to the boat back to WL.

I would agree...go for the cart! :thumbsup2 There are LOTS of decorations throughout the park and you can go at your own pace. If you enjoy adult beverages, you can grab a drink at Crockett's Tavern before the tour.

Have fun!

The Bike Barn definitely has a night drop box- I have used it myself. The Bike Barn closes at 6 pm, so you need to pick up the cart before then.

Make a ressie for the golf cart now, you'll need it for X-mas time.
