Should I plan for 6 days, or 7?

I'm saving up for my first solo trip to disney in September 2018, I've got $1500 socked away in a savings account. I've been to Disney 11 times thus far, but this will be my first solo trip. I'm trying to decide between going 6 days (1 day to fly down, 1 park per day, and 1 day to fly back) or 7 days, (1 day to fly down, 1 park per day, a day in the middle to veg at the hotel, and a day to fly home)

1 park per day... is that the 4 WDW parks + 2 water parks or 4 WDW parks + Universal?

If it's the first version with the water parks, I'd only ask if you wanted a Disney Springs day. And, well, you are paying a premium for having a pool at your hotel (which one, btw) and might want a day to enjoy it.

If it's the second, with Universal squeezed in there, then definitely give yourself a day in the middle, if you can afford it. You'll be exhausted from your vacation, if you don't.

I think you should figure out how much money you will have to spend and go from there. I spent $1500 going to WDW for a 3 day weekend.....and that didn't include park tickets.

Fly in Monday: Spend the day coming down from the airport (or dealing with delays)
Tuesday: Magic Kingdom, as a single rider and having been 11 times I'm not afraid of lines.
Wednesday: Hollywood studios, Possibly split with a waterpark since HS is a half-day park RN.
Thursday: Animal Kingdom I've never been. my family usually does Busch Gardens instead.
Friday: Epcot The big spending day.
Saturday: Fly home, Cry, wait for the items I sent home using the Disney Package Delivery Service instead of packing them in my suitcase.

OR

Fly in Sunday, Come down from the airport / deal with plane delays
Monday: Magic Kingdom. Single Rider, not afraid of lines.
Tuesday: Hollywood Studios, Waterpark. Same reason as above.
Wednesday: Rest feet at hotel, maybe resort / monorail hop if I feel the yen.
Thursday: Animal Kingdom, give it the ol college try.
Friday: Epcot, Spend that money.
Saturday: Go home, Cry, Wait for package deliveries.

I'm absolutely trying to budget. I know my "big spend day" will be Epcot. I want to do some serious "International" shopping. and with how the CAD/USD is currently sitting, I'll need to scrimp up further if I'm really gonna do it. the $1500CAD is just what I have so far.

If you can afford it, do the extra day. You'll love the break and you can hit Disney Springs or go golfing or biking or sit by the pool.

Also, have you considered doing any of the tours? I know I always said if I went by myself, I'd do the Living with the Land tour and maybe the AK tour.

I'd spend the extra day and get a 5 day ticket! We usually build in an afternoon pool break to our days.

Curious to know what you will be shopping for at Epcot? The only thing we ever spend a lot on at Epcot is food. Usually twice the daily food budget but we plan for that so it's not really breaking the budget.

I want to do Deserts Around The World. easilly $120 minimum.

-A blanket from Mexico pavilion. we have a few already, but I love them so I want more. IIRC they're $20-$50?

-a new yukata from Japan. I have one already that I got... 10 years ago? it's time for a fresher one. I got mine for $60 wouldn't be surprised the price went up.

other pavilions I have yet to decide.

I was raised go hard all day then go home. I still side-eye park hopper as a waste of time/money.

I'd do 5 days if it doesn't cost too much more and enjoy a few things outside the parks .. also, could move water park to your day off.

Lol! It all depends how you tour and length of trip. We typically go for 2 weeks. So we have a more relaxed trip, take afternoon pool breaks and go to a different park at night.

We always do 7 days. This past trip we cut it down to 5 since staying at CBR and construction "ugh" and decided to stay a few days at the beach in way down.

I honestly missed the 2 extra days to relax and hang by the pool. Next trip 9 days definitely.

My wife and I love to play dress-up. I love the belly dancing costume, Japanese kimono, French maid, etc. We are not into 50 Shades stuff but we like Cosplay stuff. Every time we shop at Epcot, we imagine what we what to role play that night. Needless to say, we love Epcot the most and cannot wait to get back to the hotel room every night if you know what I am saying.

So our shopping trip across different countries in Epcot is never dull.

Well OK then. Perhaps on my next tour of Epcot I will avoid the shops altogether.

You know that saying 'less is more'? Well....it doesn't apply to Disney. So if you can swing it I'd add the extra day.

Less is more, but it wouldn't be a park day. it might possibly be a "browse Disney Springs" day. or a "Monorail loop" day. which are both dangerous for the wallet. :P
