Should I pierce my ears?

I don't have my ears pierced, should I do this for the wedding so I can wear earrings?

I agree! but do it so that you have enough time for your ears to heal. In the end its your choice.

I pierced my ears three times. Once in 7th grade (they closed), once sophomore year of college (they closed) and 6 weeks ago. I decided about 6 weeks before the wedding that I shouldn't wear a necklace and went with earrings instead.

I find them really annoying and they itched like crazy for about 5 days after piercing...so I would definitely give yourself a lot of wiggle room. Don't do it 3 days before you leave.

I wouldn't unless there was a specific style of earring that you're looking to wear. Clips aren't fun, but having a hole scar in your ear if you're not going to keep wearing earrings isn't either.

If you're going to do it - do it now to avoid them not being healed up in enough time for the wedding. Esp. if they are heavy earrings!

I wouldn’t if the only reason you are going to get them pierced is for the wedding. You can wear clip-ons if you really think you need ear accessories.

My mom got my ears pierced when I was a child and even though I let them close (because they caused me tons of problems due to metal allergies) I have these horrible marks on my ears. I stopped wearing earrings years ago but the holes never truly go away…

However, if you really want your ears pierced for more than just one event, then I would say go for it like everyone else

I think I'm gonna re-pierce mine for my wedding. They've pretty much closed up, so yea, if you wanna piece your ears, I say go for it! They def. are better than clip-ons.

I love wearing earrings, and think if you're having an up-do it'll add some lovely sparkle.

Plus clip ons are very painful.

I'd do it pretty soon though so they are 100% healed.

It doesn't hurt getting them done at all, so don't worry about that side of it.

If your going to do them - get them done now as others have said in case your wearing heavy earrings.

Are you planning on wearing a large necklace? It can sometimes look a bit too much?

My ears are pierced but I'm not going to wear earrings as I am planning on wearing a large necklace and and hairband - I think I might look a bit top heavy (or topple over with the weight )

I had them done as a child and they healed up really quickly.

I've had issues with my ear piercings because of metal allergies but I found that if I stuck with 14 ct white gold I had no issues. i had them pierced as a child, they closed, then my step father ( a doctor) redid them for me when I was in middle scool and they stuck. No issues once I stuck to a specific metal.

Do them with plenty of time!

I kinda feel the same way as 29apr00. I feel that if you are only wanting to get your ears pierced for the wedding, then i just wouldnt do it.

I don't know how well these work, but have you tried the magnetic ones?

having your ears pierced is overrated. I got mine pierced when I was 9 and have probably only worn earrings on 3 occasions. Plus when you get them pierced you have to leave in the ugly starter ones for like a month. And the chick that did mine made them completely crooked! dont go to Claires.

That's just good advice across the board. Go to a licensed professional! (says the woman with 7 holes in one ear! LOL ) The only time I've ever had an infection with piercing is when I had my third one done at Claire's. And I had to go to the doctor for that!
