We are going next week. Usually we take an extra bag to bring stuff back. It's empty on the trip out inside another bag.

This time I'm thinking of taking some groceries (cereal, breakfast bars, etc...) in it. I'm concerned about getting supplies in Orlando due to the huricanes. (Heck, I'm still not sure if we should go with all that is going on there.).

Have any of you packed stuff like this?

First, you should have little trouble finding the items you're looking for. The hurricanes will be 2 weeks past. Stores will have re-stocked by then.

However, there's nothing wrong with taking a few things with you. I'd much rather purchase items ahead of time and pack them rather than using valuable vacation time at the grocery store.

Do not reconsider the trip. Go and have a good time. Tourism is VERY important to the Florida economy (remember, no state income tax), thus you're actually doing them more harm than good by staying home. They need your money! ;)

We pack food and diapers/wipes etc... and use the space on the way back for our new purchases.

We curb check the luggage and get a Porter at the other end, so it doesnt matter what they weight... LOL And I do a trial pack of our van so we already know how to pack up the rental quickly.

We are going in a couple of weeks.... tjkraz is right, Florida needs our money right now. If there is still a lot of debris in route and around WDW, I am thinking ahead as to what I am going to say to my kids.... mostly reassuring them that weather man know when this kinda of thing is going to happen and people do their best to protect their house's, and then they take a vacation where the weather is better ( alot of people rode out the storm at WDW... very safe here...... Some houses dont make it, but the families are safe and the house can be rebuilt , becasue the weather man knew the storms were coming... my kids are 5,3, and 1 so I am keeping it upbeat....

HTH and have a great time.

Oh and maybe thank some CM's for hanging in there. ::yes::

I packed granola bars, microwave popcorn, fruit roll-ups and 2 kinds of cereal
figure the space will be needed for souvies on the way home

My son and I went 9-12 thru 9-20 and had a blast! No one and I do mean NO ONE was there. We were the first one's in MK and did the whole park in two hours and walked right up to every Major attraction and hopped right on the rides with NO wait. Same thing at all the other parks as well as the Water Parks. It really felt like we had rented the park out!::yes:: So go and have fun while the Media hypes all the Hurricanes and drives the Big crowds away.

Thanks for the info. Microwave popcorn, forgot about that one.

Unless mother nature throws something else at Florida (or Mt. Saint Helens blows and shuts down SeaTac) we will be there!

Don't forget laundry tablets & coffee filters.

We always bring granola bars, cereal, nestle quick, a couple of cans of soup, spagettios, mac & chs. We do this more for the convenience of not having to shop. Oh, and pb + j (i buy little jars), then I can just buy bread and milk from the resort.

Have fun!!
