I'm assuming that towels are available at all resort pools but what if you are doing both waterparks and spending pool time?
Does anyone pack their own beach towels? What do you take to the waterparks?

I always pack our beach towels. The towels they have at the pools or in the room just aren't big enough, (IMHO) especially if you want to lay one on a lounge chair by the pool. Have a great trip!

We called this past weekend and asked if beach towels were provided for guests. Answer we got was we could use the room towels. So we will pack our beach towels. We're going at the end of the month and we will not have to pack any warm clothes, so we should have the extra room.

When we went to TL in July, they charged $1 for towels. In the past, the towels were available just like at the resort pools. From now on, we will try to remember to grab a towel from our resort pool before heading to the waterpark.

Here are the reasons we always take our oldest beach towels.

*They are usually not as fluffy as new ones and don't take up as much room.
*Hopefully they will not get stolen because they are not nice. If they do, it's not a big loss.
*It's a lot easier to find your chair with a colorful beach towel in the sea of white towels.
*You don't have to wait in line at the water parks to rent one.
*The water parks will not give you a new towel if somebody takes yours.

Here's another reason to bring your own towels. On your way home towels are great for padding breakables. The stores do a good job of wrapping, but I always wrap my breakables in the towels.

We always seem to drag ours along with us in order to save time at the water parks and because they're larger. I know the value resorts don't have towels at the pool (although you can use the ones from your room and request more) and the deluxe resorts do have towels at the pool. I can't remember about the moderates, though.

Thanks everyone, good suggestions! I like the packing one and the info about renting at water parks--never would have guessed they would charge, silly me! Very excited!

Or another thing you can do is to wait until you get to disney adn buy one although they are $20 but they last !!! I bought one in 97 for the 25th Aniversary and still use it and its a bright now as it was then!!

I noticed this yr they also now have a double sized beach towel for sale but don't remember the price!

they make great souveniers!!!!!!!!!!

My three children and I go every year for 2 weeks and have never taken our beach towels. During our trip this year I decided that in the future I will bring our towels, though. Since we drive, I don't have to pack them (take up too much space). I don't plan on using them at the pools or water parks (ours are all the $20 Disney variety!) because I'm afraid they might get stolen, but I will leave them in the back of my Excursion to sit on when we leave wet. This year is the first time that I drove to the water park (always parked the car upon arriving and not touched 'til leaving), and I will never take a bus there again! From resort (BCV) to Blizzard Beach was about 5 minutes.
