Should I make a reservation now using the memory maker discount or should I wait to see if FD comes out. I really did not think I would be returning to WDW this year but it might be possible. I was going to wait until next year. My granddaughter:love: is pleading with me to reconsider going this year. She wants nothing else, no presents for her birthday no other vacation just to return to WDW.
Last year there was no FD offer for the end of August:( The MM discount has the end of August included. Do you think if it does come out It would be possible to change over to FD?:confused3 FD would be double the discount of the MM discount. Just don't know what to do.

Personally I don't think you will see free dining in August unless bookings drop. And they don't seem to be. If MM gets people to book then they have no reason to add more discounts.

Personally, if I were going in August I would jump on MM because I am doing a short trip this time and that $150 is a pretty decent discount on 4 days. I also plan to stay at the values this time around. I bribed my DD into potty training that she could go to Animal Kingdom. It worked so now I have to pay up.

I would book the MM package now and if FD or another discount comes out that is better than MM, you can always switch discounts, pending availability. With that said, I agree with the pp that there is a very good chance FD will not be offered for the end of August since it didn't start until the first of September last year (as well as the fact that Disney has been scaling back on discounts and dates discounts are offered). Good luck.

We are wrestling with the same decision! We are planning a trip from Sept 21st-30th, and we don't know if we should book the Memory Maker now, or wait for FD. We (obviously) really want the FD, since we were never intending to buy the Memory Maker anyways, but there is a tiny room discount bundled in... I'm also concerned that booking the MM package might affect the likely-hood of FD being offered - if a lot of people bite at the MM package, Disney might think there's no need for FD.
So stressful trying to book a Disney vacation! :faint:

My personal recommendation would be to wait. If more people book now and fill rooms, Disney won't need to offer free dining later to fill those rooms. Just my opinion. I'm waiting them out. :)

:headache: I have been debating over this all afternoon today! Planning to go in late Sept (23-27) or in Oct (14-18). I've been mentally holding out for FD but did some quotes with the MM package. This trip is to celebrate my sister's 50th (which was in Feb.) but she wanted to go during Epcot Food & Wine. Want it to be a really nice sister trip. Considering BC resort. Price much higher for me in Oct. but very doable in Sept. I'm getting antsy, not sure if I should book and see if FD deal comes out or wait it out. :confused3

If you think there is a good chance you'll still go with only a MM discount, then book it. If there isn't much of a chance, then don't.
