We are planning on going Thanksgiving Day only and am now having second thoughts. I read on another board that last Thanksgiving Day was really nice and not crowded.
I have a 5 year old and an almost 2 year old and do not want to be standing in line all day.Last spring when I unknowingly went during spring breakI finally ended up leaving without doing anything because the lines were horrible.
It was really frustrating to spend all the time and money getting there and then leaving like that.
We live in Northern California so we would be driving there but I still am uncertain if I want to chance it again.
I know the week end will be crowded but I was hoping that Thanksgiving Day would be better.
Please help!

I have heard that typically, Thanksgiving is crowded. Last year fall was not very crowded, but that may have had a lot to do w/ Sept. 11

There is no way to predict if it will be crowded this year. You'd just have to take the chance. One way to tell is to check the hours DL is open. Typical Thursday hours are 10-8 so if it is open 8-midnight on Thanksgiving, they are expecting crowds.

If you arrive at opening time you will be able to get a lot done in the first few hours.

Good luck w/ your decision.

Honestly, I would NEVER go to Disneyland on a holiday. It most definitely will be crowded. Crowds are back up this year and with all the local advertising about the holiday events at Disneyland it is likely to be packed the entire 4-day weekend.

If you dont like crowds and huge lines avoid all holidays (and holiday weekends esp!)
We sometimes go but we have AP's and don't care about the rides, but we always say "geez I would hate this if I had paid to get into the park today!"
Hard to get your money's worth on days like that - great for people watching though!

Thanks for all the imput. I've decided not to chance it and drive down there for Thanksgiving. I was so upset last spring when it was packed that I decided to wait for a slower time. If my kids were older it wouldn't be so bad, but with a 2 year old it wouldn't be much fun. I called DL today and they said that it is usually very crowded on Thanksgiving so I will just look forward to going in January or February (HOPEFULLY)
THANKS AGAIN!
