Should I make reservations for lunch and dinner?

I have meal reservations for July and October. Some things were already all booked up - Cowfish. Luckily I wanted Saturday, because Friday and Sunday weren’t available (this was for October). We are staying club level for HHN, but I don’t want to go back to the hotel any more than necessary.
It doesn't look like any Friday or Sunday is available. Wonder if they only do walk up on those days?

I just got back and all the restaurants were only taking reservation guests. No walk ins. It was jam packed with people in the parks and at City Walk at night. We had 9pm reservations at our three choices and heard people being turned away every time. I seriously would consider reservations.
We tried walk up at Toothsome Sunday night. No walk ups were being taken there.

I have never even considered booking Citywalk/UOR restaurants in advance. Thinking maybe I should for December. Do you book directly with the restaurants, use Open Table or the UOR website? Thank you.

UOR website. The restaurants have a link for reservations on their home page if they take them.

I'm wondering if we should start a thread specifically for people's experiences trying for restaurant reservations for the rest of this year to follow the trends. There seem to be quite a few threads now with folks having issues up to 6 months in advance. It would be good to compare the parks, to City Walk, to the resorts, lunch vs. dinner, etc. We could call it "2021 Table Service Reservations Thread" or something.

Despite the parks letting everyone in, the TS restaurants are still short staffed and are limiting numbers of guests. People complain when they see empty tables and are turned away, but if you don't have enough cooks, waitstaff, and cleaners, you can't serve them. Hopefully, staffing will gradually improve, but it may be difficult for awhile yet.

We made sit down reservations for lunch and then will wing it for dinner. Probably grab snacks at the club before heading back to the resort. We only really eat one large meal a day.

This thread is making me wonder if I should swap our minions suite for a club level room instead. Then at least breakfast and evening meals would be mostly covered. I would hate to lose hours of park time during our first UO trip just standing in line for food.

We were fine with an in-park lunch reservation and a few snacks in our bag. Dinner was easier as the crowds started thinning out.
