Should I make a plan B...actually Plan D...for March?

At this time I would have a plan B for any trip that I want to take before 2022.

I will be very surprised if Disneyland is allowed to open before October. Happy. But surprised.

Absolutely zero chance they’ll be open in March. I’m already getting myself ready for them not to be open in October....

When they do open, they’ll be restricted to residents near Disneyland (I forget that exact distance, but 50 miles or 75 miles or something) unless the state of California changes that reopening plan... (very likely could change, but I’ve heard nothing so far, I don’t think it’s a focus right now)

Unemployment and the evection rules have already been extended till September. It’s likely employees will be able to switch to pandemic unemployment (if they’re not covered by that already) which should extend benefits out.

The distance restriction was 120 miles, but you rightly point out that the restriction could change since we now have vaccines and didn't when the restriction was first made.

We have tentative plans for an OC visit to see family and gave up on DLR. Is the quarantine suggested, but not mandatory in OC? Or is there no wording at all for OC?

@thetasigma1186, your only chance for a 2021 U.S. Disney trip may be in Orlando. If you aren't interested in Plan E being Disney World, you'll likely have to hold off until 2022.

Agreed, this whole year is up in the air. I did Disney World in November and had a wonderful time. While I’m always 100% Disneyland, I really loved WDW. It wasn’t my first choice but it was absolutely magical in just a different way. And honestly, there’s so many discounts that the price wasn’t too much different. The value resort prices aren’t too different than some of the offsite hotels near Disneyland. Highly recommend to anyone chomping at the bit to go! Going back in July and praying DLR returns for xmas!

I am planning a trip with a friend, and we think the earliest that makes sense is May 2022. This is based on the thinking that most people (people who are under 65, in good health, and not first responders/essential workers) will not be able to get a vaccine until May 2021, which gives a full year of vaccination efforts. We are both cautious people. Other people feel differently and have different comfort levels.

Thanks everyone...I have a plan B but will wait as long as I have to to cancel!! We also went to WDW in November. That was our annual Wine and Dine race weekend...without a race this year!! So don't really want to move the trip there. I am too optimistic...oh well! Thanks again!

Yeah, we have 5-day park hoppers that have been extended to December...only, I don't know if we can go this year, even. We don't expect opening in the summer, so we're seriously considering WDW. Only I HATE Florida in the summer.

Yea we have Canadian resident tickets from our cancelled March 2020 trip that currently expire in December but especially since our vaccine shipments keep getting delayed it doesn’t seem likely that travel will be possible by than.
