Should I just do Resort at the Port?

Just need one night pre-cruise. We used this hotel years ago and liked it, but it seems to get mixed reviews lately. I'm thinking of just booking it...it's only one night, we know we may get a room that hasn't yet been refurbished, we know the customer service may be hit or miss, and I know that it may be tool cold (January) for the pool. But, the pros: it is close to the port, a place to sleep, and has a shuttle to the port, and that's technically all we need. Is there any reason to not just use this hotel?

Any other choices? We have actually left a hotel that was very unsatisfactory. Maybe ask here and you may get a better understanding.

I gave the TripAdvisor reviews a quick look, not going to Page 2. If I had previously stayed here and liked it, I would definitely consider it if (1) the price was good, (2) I had a way to get here from airport, (3) I was aware of the shuttle cost - looks to be $6 pp OW- or an alternate and (4) I had a game plan for dinner.

I have stayed in the concrete block Value Resorts at WDW and would again. They have had periods when they needed refurbishment. I also grew up staying in mom and pop motels. Only as I have aged have I been spoiled by nice hotels.

For years, it seemed the option near the port was this hotel or Country Inn & Suites. We stayed there pre-cruise and it served the purpose of a clean place to stay.

I read nothing in the reviews that mentioned uncleanliness.

Now, there are multiple newer hotels, commanding higher prices. I imagine this might bring out more scrutiny for the Resort in reviews.

I’d say “why not?”

Agree with AuntLynne. We haven’t stayed there but at the nearby Hampton and Towneplace Suites. Liked Hampton better. But if Resort at the Port was like $30 or $40 cheaper would stay there. Especially with limited time and not spending day with pool etc.

At Port Canaveral? If you are flying into MCO, I don't think there is much benefit to staying close to the port. Either way you have to taxi or shuttle over in the morning. There's plenty of time to get there from WDW or MCO
