Should I have created a separate MDE account for my parents?

I have a DVC reservation. I made may parents a cash reservation. I can see both under my reservations on MDE online - but I 'm only allowed to "check-in" to mine with the app.

Appears Disney sites have having issues today and I can't seem to get my parents checked-in.

This has me thinking.....would it have better if I they have their own Disney account?
Thoughts of PIN numbers and credit card on file for charges has me wondering I may have messed this all up.
