Should I have adult child get their own MDE account?

Well darn, they must have changed things up again. I was able to see the expiration date for DH's AP in my MDE app, but we haven't had one for over a year now. I know I could see everything about our family's tickets in January, despite DD having her own MDE account and managing DSiL and DGD, and I think I could have reassigned DH's ticket, at least via the MDE website, but maybe that was because we bought it through my MDE account. I'm sorry they've made things more difficult for you.
You're right...I just went and checked and I can see the AP expiration date. It's just the Reassigning of tickets I couldn't do. I apologize for the confusion.

My mom has her own MDE act but I do ALL the planning for us. She’s linked to my friends & Family and I share my plans. I’m more comfortable with my entire family having their own accts in case we get separated. They can then mobile order food and book LL. They can also look at dining choices to help me make last minute ADRs. I HATE being the only planner 😁

My DD is 16 but does all of these things by signing into my account. She will get her own at some point but I wanted to point out to help others that if you share your login with people, they can do all those things.

Also, even without signing in they can mobile order and make purchases if they have charging allowed on their mb and are provided the pin. She has been able to do that since she was 10.

My DH had his own account managed by me for a long time and one of our last trips he ended up asking something at the blue tent and they changed it so that he manages his own now and I absolutely hate it. He never logs in, doesn't know the password, doesn't make the plans or buy his own annual pass or even know when it expires. Whenever I have to do that or change anything now I have to go to his account and sign in. It's a pain and actually makes MORE work for me. Just my two cents...I know the OP has already done it but in case anyone else reading is thinking about it, I don't recommend unless the adult in question is going to actually do some of the planning.
I agree. I have done ALL of the planning…a thankless job. We’re not returning until I have grandchildren, so at that point, my daughter and family can have one account, and my husband and I will have another. Doing it by room makes a lot of sense.
