Should I get the Premiere AP?

We're moving this summer, and will live 30 minutes from Disneyland. I have a WDW Platinum AP that's good through January 1, and I'm very tempted to upgrade it to a Premiere during an upcoming trip to LA this April.

Help me think this through:

Option 1)
Upgrade my WDW AP to a Premiere AP on April 19. Then, in January 2018, start paying $100+$65/mo for a new DLR Signature AP.

Option 2)
Just get a DLR Signature AP on April 19. It would cost about $180 more, but would give me 4 more months' access to the parks.

It looks like the price difference between the two options would be minimal. (The Dec 18-31 blackout dates on the Signature AP don't concern me because I'll be at WDW Dec 16-23.)

If I can't upgrade my WDW AP to a premiere at Disneyland, this entire line of reasoning is moot.

What would you do?

The premiere = DLR Signature Plus and WDW Platinum Plus.

The premiere = DLR Signature Plus and WDW Platinum Plus.
Right, I wasn't sure if you got an extra percentage off dining and etc going with the Premier/Plus versus the Signature and Platinum non plus. If you could save more money, it may be worth it to do that versus the 2 separate APs.

I've had the Premiere in the past year. The discounts are roughly similar, but if you are going to be spending a reasonable amount of time in each park, it is truly worth it. I really enjoyed having the flexibility in both parks. If I remember correctly (and please check me on this) the discounts at DL are sometimes greater than in WDW. But, for me, that wasn't the biggest benefit. For me, the benefit was knowing I could book ADRs, FP in each park whenever I needed to. It really was convenient. I USED TO live 1/2 hour from DL, so I gotta say how a little flash of jealousy came over me when I read your post. Enjoy the park(s), no matter your decision about the Premiere!

I'm just now realizing that upgrading to the premiere will give me access to ESPN (which I won't use), Oak Trail Golf Course (which I also won't use) and the water parks (which I might use one day in December), so that's an additional potential $62 in savings if I choose the Premiere.
