We are traveling in October for 11 days/10 nights. It will be me, DH and our two kidz (DS 4 yr and DD 1 yr). I've been going back and forth over this one and I'm still not sure what to do. I currently have "room-only" ressies. I've booked a few ADRs including Boatwrights, Le Cellier, 50's Primetime, Chef Mickey's Character Brunch and Mama Melrose.

What's your thoughts. I haven't done the pricing yet and the Disney site isn't working for me right now...but I am figuring it will add around $800 to our total...

Thanks for any advice!
:thanks:

The pricing is $37.99 per adult + $10.99 for your DS. DD's a freebie. So, it's $869.70 for ten nights. The credits (1 TS, 1 CS, and 1 snack per person, per day) begin on checkin and expire at midnight on your checkout day (i.e. midnight AFTER checkout).

Don't forget that the above price includes tax and tip.

Also don't forget you can use TSs for character meals, including dinners. [check the FAQ sticky above (first post) for a lot of detail on the plan.]

I don't think it's a valid comparison to compare that cost to the menu prices of the meals. I think a much better comparison is to what you would normally spend paying cash.

It would be about $870 for your family. Do you want more table service meals? or are the 5 you have scheduled your family's limit? If you want more, would enjoy more, etc, then absolutely consider it. If you'll only do those 5 meals and would prefer some off-site meals and/or all counter service, then pass on the dining plan. I LOVED the DDP. You could easily spend $140 after tax/tip at LC and over $100 at boatwrights, primetime and MM. Chef Mickey's would be over $60 for the 3 paying guests there. That's about $500 of the $870. You could add another character meal to your plans and skip some autograph lines at the parks!

If you intend to eat one TS meal a day, you'll come out ahead with the DDP. I ran the numbers several ways for our trip in July, and it easily paid for itself. Because the DDP includes tax and tip, you really do come out ahead.

You will need to factor in the cost of converting your room only ressies to MYW package ressies (or go through AAA to get a discount).

In the year and a half I have monitored the boards, people in your situation (younger children) have factored in their children's temperments and ability to wait in line, even short waits, for TS reservations when tired and exhausted.

In general, the suggestions would probably tip in favor of the plan if you are planning a lot of TS restaurants anyway.
