Should I get Hoppers?

I have all me plans made, ADRs (on DxDP:goodvibes), and was not planning on park hopping. Now that I have seen the new crowd calendar, I am more than freaking out. Every night, but 2 we have ADRs at resorts, so we could leave from there and go to a different park. Are park hopper a MUST in high-crowd times? I was just being cheap, but after I have spend SO much time and money on a trip, I will upgrade the tickets if it means we will have a better trip...:confused3

My family buys the hoppers without even flinching. We love the flexibility they give us. It's worth every penny in my opinion.

Our family is the same way. The park hopper is not an option for us. It creates so much freedom for us to do whatever we want.

BUT you could always take a wait and see approach. The price is the same whether you add it now or later. There is no harm in waiting to see how you feel once you are there.

Since you are staying on property I would surely hop. This way you can spend morning or evening EMHs in the parks but not the rest of the day in that same busier park.

Thank you for your quick responses. I already did online check-in, so should I just add the hoppers when I get there or can I still call and do it over the phone?

We went for 7 days last year and did NOT hop. After seeing all we could have done (especially w/ greater options if you are using the dining plan) we are going to hop our next trip. If you eat a resort and then want to go enjoy EMH, it is easy to do. If you do not hop, you are "stuck" at one park a day and must dine there unless you go off site and return to the same park. It makes seeing things like "Fantasmic" a lot easier. The extra $$ is well worth it to me after learning from our last trip to the world.

hopping is a no brainer for us... we always add it. even if you don't always use it, just a time or two is worth it. staying on property for sure i say add it.

I actually fall on the side of no park hopper. I am of the opinion that they are very expensive (~$45 per head). How many times will you actually hop? Most trips are 3-7 days and you are gonna want to spend a full day at every park you go to. There is so much to see. If you are leaving the park to go to a resort for an ADR you are already cutting into daylight at that park. You will not have seen everything at that park by the time dinner arrives.

The crowd control argument I find a little suspect. My experience is that EMH and the fantasmic show may boost the crowds a little and may be the one reason to get a hopper but generally if one park is crowded, all 4 will be.

I try to look at my schedule. If I don't think I'll use a hopper more than twice, I steer clear of it. Its almost like buying a separate park admission for a day for everyone.

You should probably just wait until you get to disney. The best thing to do it to wait until you decide that you want to hop to another park. You can add the hopper on right then, at whichever park you are at. The cost will be the same no matter when you do it, so just wait until you are at a park and decide that you want to go to a different park on that day. Then you can add the hopper on. If you never feel the desire to hop to another park, then you will never need to add the option.

I never get the hopper option. One park per day is plenty for us and besides who wants to travel in the heat to diffrent parks. You can spend all day in 1 park and not see everything. I think if you are a veteran and you go often than yeah its a good thing but if you never been or still havent seen most things than regular tickets are better. Not to mention if you want you can still plan adrs at resorts and you can come back to the 1 park later on .I would'nt get a park hopper just for adrs.

we can never go to disney without park hoppers. we always take full advantage of the early and late EMH- we base our ADRS around them! definitely pay a little more to get them- it's really worth it! :thumbsup2

If your debating on it. I would wait and go to Disney and see if YOU think its worth it. It can still be added on when you get there too for the same price.

lol. I posted this same question a couple of weeks ago! I bit the bullet and did the PHs b/c I just couldn't give them up! We LOVE to hop!:cool1:

We always get a hopper and visit mulitple parks in the same day, its great flexibility!

We always get hoppers. There are so many restaurants at Epcot that we enjoy, that many days we will spend the morning/afternoon at 1 park and then take a break and then hop to Epcot for the evening.

I've always wondered about the "crowd calendar"... where do you find that? :confused3

We have alaways hopped in the past.. It was never thought of about the money.. it was about the flexibility, and going to the places we wanted to eat for ADRs,,,, (usually ended up in Epcot WS. ) but this time.. we are going to try it without to see what we think... I think it also depends on when you go, and who is in your party.... if it's just me an DH.. no doubt we're hopping.. but we were thinkin we spend (waste) a lot of time getting from one place to the other ... so we aren't really gaining anything.. especially when we're dragging 4 kids and pushing a stroller... so we're gonna try not hopping this time....

We don't get hoppers but I can't deny the flexibility if you don't mind spending a lot of time going from park to park. I would wait until you get there to add the hopper feature personally.

We are definitely hoppers. I like the flexibility that if I get to a park and its a mob scene, I'm outta there, and changing our plans for the day. Also, if we want to go to a restaurant that is in a different park, no problem. Want to go shopping on Main Street after a day of touring the World Showcase, we can do that too! I can't imagine NOT hopping. I think its soooo worth the extra money.
