I priced our vacation with AAA and we would save $260 if I booked with them, but I don't have AAA and am not sure if getting it just for the discount would be the right choice. AAA in my area will only tow you 3 miles to the nearest repair station and I've been using a different road service that will actually tow your car home(and take you home too!) After the cost of the service the net savings would be $200. Maybe I should just wait and see if Disney comes out with a cose? Any thoughts?

Since AAA rates are not alwayas available I would go ahead and book "room only" with CRO with AAA discount. When you make the reservation if they ask for your member number (some do some don't) just tell them your card is in the other room or something, they'll just tell you that you have to have it upon checkin. Then if better rate comes out you can use that, if not join AAA. I join just for the discount it's worth it. That 200.00 savings can be used for meals, shopping etc.

Last year I joined AAA for the same reason. The savings on our Disney trip made it worth it. In our area, you can get AAA plus which will tow up to 100 miles (it costs more though, but this is what I have). I can't remember what I saved, but I saved money using my credit card for payment (a promo they had at the time).

I did get AAA just for the Disney discounts but keep finding there are many other discounts I'm eligible for because of AAA. So keep that in mind, too. Now, if for some reason I stopped going to Disney ( :confused3 - oh my gosh, how could I even think such a thing :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: ) , I'd probably still keep AAA.

I think AA is worth it and if you have an Entertainment book there is a $10 off coupon in it for a basic membership.

You do get alot of other discounts thru AA other than Disney and I love their Trip Tiks. If you call and tell them where you want to go, they make up a whole packet of info for you with brochures, area guides, discount books and maps.

I don't have that in my NC Entertainment Book :confused3 Does anyone have one they won't be using? I can trade pretty much any national coupon, even the Citywalk free meal and movie as we won't be able to afford the transportation over there. PM me if you can help! I am trying to stay onsite for the first time ever!

Even for the Disney discounts, AAA is worth it to my Family of Three Drivers. We have the Gold membership and it costs a little over $120 for each of us to have our own card -- which means we EACH are entitled to 3 free tows of 100 miles or less -- even if it's over 100 miles, it's not that excessive. Two of the drivers have newer cars, but wouldn't drive without AAA. They will change a tire, bring you gas, or charge up a battery for you. They will tow your car to the service center of your choice and will, of course, bring you home. They do not leave you stranded.

AAA offers lots of other discounts, too. In addition to the resort discount, you can get theme park ticket discounts, movie ticket discounts, and 15% off on dining and merchandise purchases at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

You can also receive discounts from Pizza Hut and Lens Crafters - eye glasses and eye exams. These are a few of the discounts that come to mind. There are lots of others.

So for our family, it definitely is worth it. :grouphug:

It looks like it should be well worth it to join! If I book a trip with AAA, are their terms the same as Disneys? Final payment 45 days etc.

Yes. Final payment for package is due at the 45 day mark. $200 deposit. Plus, you will get a diamond card that is good for certain discounts at the world, a voucher for a soda at their lounge in MK, the Diamond parking pass...

If you book room only with cro, then you pay one nights deposit and the rest is paid at checkin.
