I forgot all about this until just now. When we went to DL last summer, I rented a scooter for the entire length of stay and wore shorts that came just below the knees. After our first day in the park, the lower part of my legs, from the knees down, started to itch really bad. The next morning they were swollen and felt burned. It took me a few hours to figure out what was going on. One of the side affects of a medication I take makes my skin super sensitive to the sun. What I had was a really bad case of hives!
It wasn't until I got home that my blotchy, swollen legs, got back to normal.
It's usually my arms that get it, but because my legs were stretched out on the scooter, they were exposed all day long. I did use sunscreen, but it doesn't always work on my arms, and I'm sure that was the case with my legs. I always wear a full brimmed hat so my face doesn't get the exposure but have to be extra careful.
Yeah... I could wear long pants, but I sure don't want to. Are there a lot of queues where you have to be in direct sunlight for long periods?
